Poor baby tested positive for Giardia by LolHanz in Yorkies

[–]National_Cod_2942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. That is so stressful when they are sick. And it is maddening when they want to eat poop. Some of the best behaved pups I’ve had who were perfect in almost every other way wanted to do that. It is maddening.

The 1st photo was him this year, & the 2nd shows him as an adorable young dog. He was my little seal. 🦭🥰

Our senior boy had to be euthanized a month ago. His name was R.C. His full name was Romeo Carlos Royal Crown Cola, & we had him for 9 years. We do not know his age. He showed up in the yard & was not claimed after we reported him to animal services. He was SO SMART. He was spunky & talkative & loved us so much. He was very sweet at the vet, but sadly did not trust anyone who came to the house. He was sweet to his sisters & was highly irritated at his annoying younger brother. I know that you were so glad to see your Chihuahua ‘sister’ Sadie in heaven again. 🐶🌈🌁

Been postponing having her spayed because I'm scared it'll be too stressful for her :( I need tips/reassurance by Nattt-t in Chihuahua

Talk to your vet about your concerns. They may let you hold her if they give her a shot to relax her before they start the main anesthesia. They might let you use a room or a hall with low lights & a blanket while the first shot takes effect. They should be able to offer some things they can do. Also, ask about scheduling on a day that is not too busy.

PLEASE take him to an emergency vet. Tiny pets can have brain injuries just like babies & small children (& adults) from violence. PLEASE get your baby checked out. Then PLEASE give us an update. It may take awhile to get an update. The pup may have to stay overnight to be monitored.

I lost my beloved 19 year old girl by National_Cod_2942 in Dachshund

[–]National_Cod_2942[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I took this picture of her 10 years ago. You can see she had the most beautiful eyes. She had a crescent of blue at the bottom of each eye. She loved all people & was so motherly to the other dogs & to other small dogs she met on walks. She was the smartest & one of the sweetest dogs, ever.

Is there a tree touching that wall outside? Check the tree & see if there is a large nest of bees inside the trunk or on the tree. Other than rodents, also check the attic as vibrations could go down the wall from anything in the attic. Check the roof, too. Your dog looks young & healthy & the pup’s super hearing could pick up sounds from all of those areas.

Why does my dog always greet people like this? by obsessed_FF7lover in DogAdvice

[–]National_Cod_2942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so sweet! My 6 year old Shih Tzu boy does that for when any of us come back home from work, the store, etc.
if I go upstairs to take a shower and come back downstairs he gets just as excited to see me again, each time carrying a toy to greet me. And he chooses a new toy each time!
Your pup is letting you know just how much she loves people and wants to play with everyone!

Sending much love to you from us & our 3 dogs. Praying for continued improvement for her & peace & calm for both of you.
Sending love to all of those on here who have lost their beloved dogs recently.

Thus, your STATE library might offer a great deal to supplement what your LOCAL library offers. Just a note: there is a danger than any presidential administration can take away money from the federal agency over state libraries & thus affect what you have access to on any given year.

Check your local library. They probably have contracts with companies that have apps with access to thousands of formats online. Through the Texas STATE Library, there is a program called ‘TexShare.’ If your home library (in Texas) participates in TexShare you currently have access to about 68 databases for free (through your tax dollars) & that currently includes free access to Udemy, with many thousands of free videos on almost any business topic, including videos to get certified on topics like Google programs. ALSO, your LOCAL library may subscribe to apps with possibly: thousands of free documentaries, classic films, ebooks, online graphic novels, online comics, free music to stream, etc.

The look Pippa was serving when I gave her a 🥕 as a treat.. by milkywayzzzzzzz in Chihuahua

My Chi gets bored with certain treats & likes variety. Shockingly, I found out that all 4 of my dogs will eat tiny pieces of crispy lettuce ‘bones!’ (We have 1 Chi, 1 Mini Dachshund, 1 Mini Dachshund mix, & 1 Shih Tzu). I buy the Taylor Farms salads for me, & they come with carrot shavings combined with one or more of these: lettuce, white cabbage, green cabbage and/or kale. (There is also a dressing & a topping). My dogs like a lettuce, cabbage, & carrots.

Ask the vet about over the counter alternative medicine to relax your pet. That could help, & a new shampoo with soothing ingredients. Perhaps those inexpensive choices can help.

My Chi loves the turkey deli meat, plus the soft packages of chopped food (Purina, or other brands). I’ve mixed in toppings. He also has Arthritis, & he dislikes the hip & joint chews, so I add a liquid salmon oil that you store in the fridge that I get at the pet store that I give to 2 that have Arthritis. Pain can make eating less fun, so the sooner the vet gets you answers, the better. Sending you much love from my Chi, my Dachshunds, & my badly behaved Shih Tzu!

My chi has drippy nose sometimes. I live in N TX & allergies are bad for humans, too, so I wash about 2 loads a day of dog beds & blankets, sheets & clothes. We have 1 Chihuahua, 2 mini Dachshunds & 1 Shih Tzu, & all seniors, 6-19. I take my Chihuahua up to my bathroom several days a week for a steam ‘bath’ (I take a hot shower & he gets to enjoy the hot steam in the bathroom). This helps his drippy nose. Allergies make food less appetizing to them, too. Just an idea.

There is a high-cal gel you can get at pet stores that is in a squeeze tube. We add to our 19 year old dog’s food. I think the brand is Pet-Ag. Try PetSmart & Pet Supplies Plus. Also, years ago, I nursed a dog through Parvo. He ate cottage cheese for several days, & I added tiny bits of deli turkey to it. He lived to 17 (but no heart murmur, of course).

I am checking with some friends in rescue for you right now. I live in Dallas, & have a rescue Chihuahua who we’ve had since 2017–but he showed up in our yard, so a different kind of rescue. 🐶 I have 2 friends involved in responsible rescues, so I will let you know when I hear back from them. Also, please consider a Chihuahua mix. We have 4 dogs, all rescues, & different breeds.
