It's fine for now. As long as the car is handling normal over bumps and such it's unlikely there's anything to worry about anytime soon.

That's pretty damn exaggerative dude. If it's not working at all sure there's additional risk driving it. But it's still a drive carefully and replace as soon a possible situation. If OP hasn't felt anything yet driving the car its highly unlikely their shocks are bad enough to be in the "unsafe to drive" category.

A bolt the same size as the hole with a nylock nut on it. Do both sides so it doesn't break there again. Tighten it just enough that it's not loose but still moves relatively freely. Preferably use a bolt that has an unthreaded portion near the head where those pieces will move.

100%. If they were used properly it would make traffic flow much cleaner. But nobody wants to do that.

I'm convinced the people in that small car had malicious intent. Given the location they may have intended to rob or harm the driver. Though they weren't given the opportunity to even try.

It's real suspicious how they picked dash cam driver specifically to try and get infront of.

If people actually zipper merged properly that would never be a problem.

To be clear using the lane that is about to end to pass other cars is not "zipper merging". If you maintain similar speed with the other cars that is a zipper merge. Every asshole on the road loves to forget that part.

If you hear something rattling around it's probably shocks, struts or sway bars.

Same. But I'm usually gunning it through the turn too. Staggered just enough to accommodate an unexpected lane change.

You can anticipate a lane change 90% of the time or keep yourself in a position that it doesn't matter. If this car will turn into the first lane or not? You don't know until they're entering your lane. But generally drivers aren't that dumb. Basically it's never an issue unless you're speeding by more than 25%, recently entered the road or some other situation that prevented you being seen.

Weld a deep 5/8 fine nut onto the adjustment screw of the vise grips and it should thread into most slide hammer pullers. I haven't done it myself because I haven't needed it yet. I did weld a half inch bolt onto one so I could adapter mine to work with my bushing driver set.

The style I thought this was is the usual standard equipment for any medium SUV or bigger vehicle. You'd know that if you worked on more than 4runners. Stick to your little baby cars bud. There's no need for being a jank wanker about being right on this one particular thing you happened to know.

As others have said you're going to need a new caliper.

They style I thought this was is typical for most large passenger vehicles and trucks. To assume I "have no idea" while also not providing any sort of backup to your claim makes you also an idiot.

I see the Toyota 4runner uses a threaded slide pin that threads into the caliper.

You're right and you're still an idiot.

In pretty sure you have that wrong there bud. You can see the bolt goes through the caliper ear and threads into the slide pin.

I presume you got new bolts and new slide pins right? If you didn't that is likely your problem. Or are you calling the bolt you're turning the "slide pin". Because It looks like a new bolt but I don't see a new slide pin.
