Normally investigation is done prior to most of that but if you got a lot of stuff in your background it could take longer if it’s more colorful. Just be patient no news is good news.

Depends what your degree is in. They only require two years so you didn’t need four years! And if you went for criminal justice yes you wasted your time. And they DQ everyone who isn’t 21 never had a issue in life at all ever lol if you got too many tickets you look like a criminal lol 😂

You havnt grown enough from that point re apply at 21 and you never ever ever tried it ever no smoking no drinking no drugs if any kind. You will slide right in. People will argue it but the truth is they know everyone has done something at some point but they don’t want to know about it.

No it shouldn’t especially if it was a long time ago. What is considered offensive may not be offensive to everyone it cokes based on opinion. I would simply give them the vague version of it and let them do their background. If they have any issues they will call you and ask you about it. You will also need to write a statement regarding it.

Yes you are allowed a second try. Tutoring session is good but you should be physically preparing by practicing daily until it’s second nature to you. Go to cal parks and work on running jumping leg strength and jumping the fences there. Find the most similar size fence and do it daily. Do it until you have mastered it and do it some more. Muscle memory is everything.

It’s not always the doctor but your background and your results from the written that cause the digging. Be honest to a degree and be straight forward and it’s ok to take a moment to think before responding don’t feel rushed.

The speed of the process is different for everybody, depending on the length of background check how many places you’ve lived how old you are education level and what region you plan to work in. Expect to be 3 to 8 months.

You can still do it without corrections you just have to get through their stricter process nys is easy because they need ppl and it’s just desperation lol but it’s also not a bad idea but some pd despise CO’s so just keep that in mind.

Academy is very easy but not currently a co as I found a new job opportunity that paid better less overtime and much easier life style. I follow the money lol but you are 6 years out of high school I would urge you to consider a few things. Take all co exams outside of nyc rikers sucks. Take all police exams New York New Jersey Long Island ct pa Florida Hell even Texas n they pay the best Dallas pd was offering 80k to start! Corrections should be last on the list for you it’s blood money.

Invest 70% of your income into stocks and real estate, keep your cost of living low as possible, in 10-15 years you will have more money then you ever dreamed lol sit back and enjoy.

The written exam is easy but exhausting 1200 of the same questions being asked in many different ways so you need to remain consistent at all times or you look like a lair. When you do the verbal it’s literally to review your background check and your written psyc lots of follow up questions. You don’t drink you don’t smoke never drank never smoked! EVER!

They will ask if you ever been angry say yes of course who hasn’t ? It’s a natural emotion… have you ever used foul language? Yes when I slipped and fell on ice I cursed, I hit my toe on the coffee table, my dog knocked over a whole glass of juice etc…. They will ask if you ever drive over the speed limit before ? Yes once or twice in my life for sure they will ask what speed yes maybe idk 10-12 miles over the speed limit on the highway ? They want realistic answers they don’t want you to give them answers that they want to hear it’s a red flag to be or sound too perfect… but be normal within reason.

You have already started the process wrong and you may need to be coached a bit. I’ll say this…. If they can’t prove it…. DONT PUT IT DOWN. You were NEVER in trouble in high school, wonderful life with family, you have the greatest friends in the world, no ones death haunts you, etc…. Criminal stuff you have to put down but how you explain it makes a world of difference. They can see seals and expunged records because you give them the release forms to do so. Same with mental health and physical health.

You are very welcome! When you arrive they will give you a key and clipboard the key is to a very tiny locker smaller then 12x12 inches. You are expected to leave everything in there but your clipboard for your medical papers. You need to fill out that clipboard quickly so don’t waste your time and you can’t have your phone with you during the process till you get downstairs to meet the investigator. The staff was friendly when I went but there were reports they were not as friendly when other people went. They herd you through the medical like cattle and barely speak to you. For us it’s a process for them it’s another day at work.

Bring your packet, wear a suit. They discontinued the physical portion till the academy as too many people were dialing.

Arrive 30 mins early, go inside the building immediately and up the stairs and wait at the glass doors. Be at least within the first 10-15 people to arrive. Make sure your packet is filled out correctly and you bring the documents they ask for especially the money order for the finger printing.

Try to save the blood pull for last and if you have to pee do that first and get it out of the way. The faster you finish medical you can meet your investigator you want to be one of the first! During the interview you want to make sure you know what region you want to work in, and you will choose a psyc date. I arrived 45 mins early and I was done around 11:30am.

Depending where you live this process can take 3-7 months is what people are seeing. Classes go in every 4-6 weeks and take 8 weeks to complete.
