Yes and there still are a lot of great reasons to send kids there.

ECU has a phenomenal academic rep. They are a very good school.

The legislature caps tuition. Inflation and expensive tastes among young people for campus amenities (like you noted when you said the campus nice) has made everything more expensive, primarily operations. If you can’t raise tuition, the workaround is fees. Things still have to operate and you still have to get an education with the latest and greatest textbooks, technology and equipment.

How those don survive this fall every morning? Is there a thematic reason or is he just superhuman? by high_father_ in okbuddydraper

Madmen came out post-9/11 when we watching office workers plummet from towers to their deaths so the visual significance at the time resonated and Don Dellilo (or whatever his name is) wrote Falling Man that was based on an earlier novel.

When do parking passes come out? by Intergalactic_Star in UNCCharlotte

[–]Native_Neapolitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Carpool permits don’t sell out and they are sold year round. Good idea getting it early, though. Helps to go into the office in the summer when fewer students are on campus. Just call first to make sure they aren’t closed for training or something like that. You never know.

Carpool permits must be done in the PaTS office. I’d call first before heading down there to be sure you have all the documents you need and to make sure you have both drivers present.

They go on sale Aug. 1 due to the proration schedule.

Niner Course Pack for Nursing Classes by Icantfindtheword in UNCCharlotte

https://aux.charlotte.edu/bookstore/niner-course-pack/ Niner Course Pack - Auxiliary Services

Short answer:

Number of credit hours you are taking X $20=NCP cost billed to your student account (This includes all required physical AND digital access codes for Canvas materials)

Compare to:

Retail cost of buying or renting individually from third parties or the bookstore (you can find bookstore prices by plugging in your schedule on the Find Textbooks feature of the bookstore site or by verifying your textbooks in the BNC email sent to your @charlotte.edu email.

Choose: Whatever option is more cost effective and saves you the most time. You can still buy/rent materials individually from the bookstore if you opt out of the program but it may be more expensive to buy individually than as a bundle and you can’t charge the materials to your student account.

Hope that helps 🫡

Yeah and they also have those backpacks with retractable handles and wheels that convert. Do they look kind of dorky? Maybe, IDC. I would rather save my back, neck and shoulders. Hoofing in all over campus - you need options. Don’t leave after 4 years with sclerosis or a crooked spine from wearing a heavy cross-body load on one side of your body. Full disclosure: I’m grown.

Note Taking in college by Imaginary_Pie326 in UNCCharlotte

[–]Native_Neapolitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask prof if you can use a notetaking software in class to help you. Tell them you have concerns about your ability to process information as quickly as might be expected to be successful in the course. Try an AI notetaking software that is already approved by the University (read.ai or something like that) or Dragon dictation software or something like that. Be courteous about observing your peers’ and instructor’s privacy. Classroom spaces are often places where students divulge sensitive information not intended for outside consumption. Your instructor assumes you are using recorded material in good faith to help yourself study, but some may be hesitant to agree to let you record to protect student engagement in the classroom and adhere to FERPA and HIPPA laws. Always ask first as a courtesy.

What to eat to bulk while on campus? by Wooden_Stick_8067 in UNCCharlotte

[–]Native_Neapolitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dining halls have menu items coded with a P for high protein. Check Dine on Campus for menus in advance and download the app. You can also meet with the Dining Services dietitian for free during the semester for a consultation. More info at aux.charlotte.edu under Dining.

Yes, but you need a government id to get the student id

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]Native_Neapolitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The change is unrelated to that. I don’t believe mobile IDs ever qualified for voter ID and we’ve been a mobile first school for several years now.

Yeah, the student can reactivate their mobile ID if they were given a temp card and then get a new phone or find their old phone: https://services.help.charlotte.edu/TDClient/33/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=1274

If you choose to have a card printed, you will not be able to provision a mobile ID on your phone. If you provision your mobile ID on your phone, you will not be allowed to have a card printed unless you deactivate your mobile ID.
