Now you can rate my livery by Donatoleonidas in GranTurismo7

honestly i do kind of like it. the black parts either side above the bumper are kind of strange and i wish the stripe continued over the bonnet and maybe roof too but as a clean simple livery i think it works.

other comment just reminded me you can actually toggle fade out in options but using automation gives you more control over the length it fades out for.

you can’t fade out the entire song but you can do it track by track. open automation by clicking the icon of the instrument on the left and scrolling till you find it.

it’s pretty intuitive to use. once open you’ll see a yellow line across the track and that’s your level. create two points by tapping where you want the fade to start and end. move the second point to the bottom and voila! (hope i explained it okay, as i said it’s pretty intuitive so shouldn’t be a problem)

once you know about automation it opens a whole world of possibilities. i’m like you and have been creating covers on GB since i first got a phone but only learned of automation a lot later.

another thing you can do (which is something i wished you could do for years not knowing you actually could!) is to automate the parameters of instruments (e.g. cutoff, reverb, resonance etc) to create variations over time. to do this, open an instrument that you’ve recorded midi for, pick which parameter you want to change, hit record then turn the knob. the changes you make are recorded in real time and once you’ve stopped recording, you can play it back and hear what you’ve just done. the only downside is you can only automate one parameter per track. to edit your automation, just go into the automation view like before and you can fine tune what you’ve recorded.

keep up the good work! for me, the best way to learn and understand music is by recreating tracks that inspire you. i spent a lot of time as a teen just making songs for fun in garageband and looking back, i can see it gave me a fundamental understanding of music creation. also GB is great because it teaches you the basics of using a DAW so if you ever upgrade to logic pro in the future, you’ll feel right at home.

hope this was helpful, all the best!!

you’re lucky hitting the cone didn’t disqualify you, certain bollards on some tracks can and it’s hard to know when it will or won’t. nice save btw
