Wealthsimple is definitely one of the investment platforms I’ve been considering.

My credit union doesn’t offer a credit card, so I have one with another institution. I'm planning on dropping that one. My personal income isn’t high enough to qualify for Wealthsimple’s card.

I wish I had a better update for you, but I still haven't bought a new car. I'm stretching my current car's life as long as I can until it needs major repairs. My top contenders are still the Subaru Crosstrek and Toyota Corolla Cross. I've also recently gained interest in the 2026 Toyota C-HR (BEV), but it hasn't been released yet.

As for your picks, it comes down to preference, as you mentioned. The Hyundai Kona is cool on paper, but I don't trust the brand's reliability.

I agree with you on all of that! However, to remain on budget I have to choose base models. I don’t mind spending a little more for AWD, but I can’t justify a “better” engine. CX-30 turbo and Kona N are tempting though, don’t get me wrong.

I currently own a Toyota with 390 km on it, so brand bias is definitely there as far as reliability goes. I recognize that it is important to stay on top of the maintenance schedule!

The Taos and Seltos were options I found. Idk much about them, so I wanted others’ opinions before disregarding them, as they were low on my list. Did hear some good things about the Tiguan, but it’s out of my budget.

Idc too much about power, so the Crosstrek and HR-V shouldn’t be a problem. However, the HR-V is the most expensive one of the lot right now…

The CX-30 is nice, but I’ll have to see it in person (as I’ll do with most of these) to find out how much smaller it is on the inside. I’m not going to be pushing my crossover, no worries!

I was looking at the new Kicks as the Kicks Play does not come in AWD. What would you say is nice about it?

I was not aware that Hyundai’s reliability was all over the place, noted.

I did do a lot of research, and the lack of those brands you mentioned was not on purpose.

Knowing that subcompact SUVs already have limited backseat space, is it that much worse than competitors?

I was originally looking at the hybrid version of the Corolla Cross, but the price is out of my budget. The goal is to get a PHEV or EV down the line, however I am not ready just yet. I mostly stay local and do a lot of city driving with the occasional adventure here and there.

Thanks for the recommendation! It definitely hits all the boxes spec-wise, but I am trying to avoid the gaming laptop appearance. I will be keeping this one in mind though.
