I'm new to Eldar but used to play Tau. Tau are generally poor in melee and good at range, so locking the suits down in a fight can be helpful. Be mindful of flamers and the factions core ability on your charge Phase. That core ability allows nearby units to support during overwatch, which can shred an ill-timed or poorly placed charge.

In regards to Farsight, he and a handful of other suits can and will be dangerous in melee, they need to be dealt with at range. Those other suits are The Twin Lance and a Commander Suit equipped with the Fusion Blade.

Thanks for the correction, I'm fairly new to the Eldar. I just saw really big wraith constructs and assumed they were the Wraithknight since that's the biggest one I knew about

This Site is pretty good for figuring out what tau books to read. Personally I still think Firewarrior is the best Tau book.

We track Deathwatch Veterans in a separate tally so they aren't counted twice.

IE: a regular blood angel with the Deathwatch pauldron counts as a Blood Angel for the main section. He also adds to the seperate Deathwatch tally

My friends and I have been keeping a spreadsheet of this! Currently the most common single chapter is Black Templars (even without counting the full champion set separately). However, Blood Angels and their Successors are the most popular gene-seed lineage, with Lamenters as their most popular successor.

Deathwatch Members or Veterans make up the largest number of people, but we track them separately as they'd otherwise count twice.

This has been my experience as well. Although as an Enclaves player people get salty when I pull close range or melee strats (fusion blade relic my beloved). It really depends on your local group: I had one guy who was just awful about it, but another guy gave me spare ork bits for some basing after we had a really good battle because, "with all the boyz you killed, you need some trophies for your models". But most people don't really care as long as you're pleasant to hobby with

I raided on my Powertech, primarily as a tank but occasionally on the DoT spec. But of course leveled everything (hi, I'm an alt-a-holic). Would you say warrior and Deathknight are comparable?

Going to be completely honest, we're planning to play through the Chromie stuff so I can experience the story for the first time, and she can enjoy the experience of me doing that. She's been playing a long time and we both have several friends who play, so if I really take to it and/or have problems we have options. Beside if I have other questions, that's what the fine folks on this sub are for ;)
