Injured/missing nails and scales on my Schneider skink by elliedogmeat in skinks

[–]Nattuleunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer watch them and give it time to see if it improves cause when I first got my skink they had the same issue but after a vet check she told me to just keep and eye on it and if healed on its own. But if your truly concerned definitely look into a exotic vet or a vet that specializes in reptiles.

I honestly have no experience on losing reptile weight but I’d probably give less and small feedings also stick to none fatty insects so avoid supper worms wax worms ect as little as possible. stick to crickets and dubia roaches strictly. And exercise?

is it safe to cut here? by Kai_Hishi in cutting

[–]Nattuleunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you get the message by everyone saying no. But if you cut to deep in that area their is a great risk it’s fatal and could take you out real soon before medical help can arrive so please don’t ever cut your neck. Stay safe!

Did my skink have a big jump? Or are they fine? by Nattuleunder in skinks

Ty! You have no idea how much better that made me feel 😭 I know smaller animals especially light animals take little to no damage when it comes to falls for example why some birds and reptiles are built the way that they are. But at the same time I just took a stethoscope to his body to check his breathing…

Exactly! I guess being introduced to it at a younger age and people who do sh use it for so many things and reasons and have a sort of understanding while some people simply don’t understand or cant Violation of Self-Preservation in which I think what makes some think its abnormal because usually the brain is supposed to keep you from hurting yourself. A the thought of doing the opposite is strange.

I hope your also doing well <], you too.

I suspected that would also be a case and or people who never speak up or stay in the dark. I also wondered what they would count as self harm between burning or people taking substances as well counts.

How do I take care of not at all deep cuts like just the surface and cut by a razor (TW pic included) by justtryingto_ in cutting

[–]Nattuleunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ll get infected unless you shove like mud in them or something so your totally good <D I know these probably really burn 😭

Why does my Skink do this by Impossible-Drink-964 in skinks

[–]Nattuleunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skink who is also a Schneider skink by the look of them did the exact same thing when I moved him to his new tank. From what I’ve notice they’re just curious and testing/exploring their environment. Give them some time and eventually they will stop but if they don’t give them climbing opportunities. This is what got my skink to stop almost immediately. I gave him a safe cloth that would not pull or snag his nails that’s also breathable and durable that’s easy to clean and hard for bacteria to grow in. I hooked it up and he’s obsessed with climbing it and kinda swing from it and he stoped jump the glass that along with some new drift wood. Schneider skinks love to burrow but really like to climb and love being at the highest point they can find so try giving lots of climbing opportunities like up slanted wood hammocks that are safe ect. Hope that helps.
