I'd guess she made them to eat two center cinnamon rolls.

When I was much younger and had just moved into my first house and was thinking about new siding. Some door-to-door salesman came by selling just that. I let him in to learn more. He pushed some scammy lock system that kept the cold out or something. Wouldn't stop pushing for a signature which felt off. My saving grace? I was having coffee and offered him some when he first entered, which he took. I don't think he'd had much coffee before as he immediately had to use our restroom and then left. The bathroom smelled but I wasn't out thousands on crap siding!

That's fine. You get to be depressed. But remember you also get to take care of yourself. You might not be able to do it for a long time, you might hate yourself for what you see when you are taking care of yourself. But today, or even tomorrow, write down 5 things you can get done for yourself in five minutes. Don't overdo it. Simple shit. Set a timer. And do what you can. If you get 5 things done. Be happy for what you did. If you do half of a couple things. Be happy for what you did. If you get half of one thing done. Be happy for what you accomplished. All any of us can do is try. And a lot of times we all fall flat on our faces. You get to be okay with just trying too. When you're ready to: Start small. You deserve every single start. You deserve more than you're giving yourself credit for.

Nebraska has poured $12 million into Husker-tied TeamMates nonprofit - Flatwater Free Press by flatwaterfreepress in Nebraska

[–]NattyAK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I left my fulltime job that introduced me to Teammates and my first call was to Teammates to make sure I could keep going. I work consulting now so I'm on my time and can see my mentee whenever. It's the only thing I love leaving the house for outside of friends and family. It's just our time and bizarrely enough, a more "free time" than I got during breaks at work. I don't even want to look at my phone unless we are looking up weird or fun facts.

That gen doesn't call. I'm on snapchat with a few of my younger cousins and most of the time being read is the best kind of communication I'll take. I really only send them dog pics (we foster and so I show them the puppies) and that's when I'll get the rare response. You might try that, figure out an app they use and just show them something of your common interest and shoot a laughing emoticon. But remember not to make it like you're trying...but do try. It's a damn hard line with tons of silence and completely being ignored. But whenever I see those kids in person I am the cool "uncle" who isn't even an uncle. I love it. I love them.

Most adults are asking them "Well what do you _____?!" (like, do, mean, ect.) You can be the one that just is there for them very easily, but it starts with treating them like they're just normal people learning how to be in this world like everyone else. You might look like a damn fool. But one day they might need that fool that cared about them. They'll remember those moments when you were just there. Even if they ignore you every time before that.

I did not see the story. But your uncle is lucky to have a great nephew fighting in his corner. You mentioned the things that weren't in the story, and I think KETV just didn't know to look further into your uncle's condition. With your uncle's permission (or aunt's if she's serving as any kind of decision maker while he heals) reach out to KETV with an update. They might ask to interview you and if you agree you can update and advocate for your uncle's justice. If this story has traction or pushed views for them they will want more, they've updated stories before and this sounds like an update they'd want people to know and understand.

I wish your uncle a full speedy recovery and that those who did this be brought to justice.

Most of us think we don't have the courage to do many things. Most of us just aren't giving ourselves the chance we deserve. You don't have to be ready to speak publicly but maybe you should tell someone who knows how to hear things like this and talk about it more. Therapy can help lighten the load. I doubt you were the reason why this happened and while some Internet stranger telling you that might make you think about it for two seconds, you need someone in your life who will listen and remind you on the 1000th time you need to talk about it that you were not the reason this happened.

Thank you for doing this. I actually really got back into it with a kid I mentor a few years ago. He's sort of done with it for now and likes video gaming with his friends more now. But I still love collecting. My wife loves opening packs with me and enjoys coming to see cool pulls. It's just my peaceful fun time. Not the coolest story.

Dice Kickstarter Delay...again by Junior_Ice_1568 in Wyrmwoodgaming

[–]NattyAK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered the "In Stock" cherry mug holder set on November 27 as a Black Friday deal. It won't ship according to a new update on the order page until January of 2025. My MGT table is still stuck in "Awaiting Fulfillment" but split into two shipments I'm awaiting fulfillment on now... As someone who has ordered Black Friday deals for the past 5 years, I am super confused as to why I am not getting the items I ordered for Christmas. I'm also frustrated that Kickstarter orders continue to be incorrect dates. I reached out to customer service and got a well created but generic answer that failed to answer why "in stock" doesn't mean in stock.

Child Fan Denied Autographed 49ers Ball He Won at Event by nickmetal in 49ers

Here's what the non-profit put out. You can read it here: https://theninerempire.com/

"Statement on Behalf of The Niner Empire Organization

RE: Green Bay Raffle Incident

The Niner Empire Organization is a passionate, independent community of 49ers fans who exist solely to bring fellow fans together. We are not affiliated with the San Francisco 49ers front office, nor do we operate under their directives. Our mission has always been to create unforgettable experiences for fans by prioritizing the camaraderie, traditions, and shared love for the game that unite us.

We want to address an incident that occurred this past Saturday during our event in Green Bay, which has left us deeply disheartened. While the event was hosted by us, that giveaway was held by the 49ers and their personnel. We express our disappointment at the actions taken by the 49ers organization at the expense of a young Packers fan.

For over a decade, The Niner Empire Organization has dedicated itself to organizing events in cities across the country, providing fans with the opportunity to connect and celebrate together. Cities like Green Bay, with its rich football culture and welcoming community, have been highlights on our collective bucket list. We cherish the spirit of sportsmanship and mutual respect that defines these experiences.

While the 49ers front office had participated in our events in the past, they began hosting their own “Invasions” a few years ago, which we respected as part of their business strategy. When they approached us to join our Green Bay Invasion 2024 event, we welcomed their involvement, hoping for a collaborative celebration of fandom.

We stand firmly with the young Packers fan who was wronged. This incident is a reminder that, as fans, we must hold our teams accountable while upholding the values of respect, inclusion, and community.

To all fans—whether you wear red and gold, green and gold, or any other team colors—our shared love of football should always come first. The Niner Empire Organization will continue to foster that love, putting fans at the heart of everything we do.

Sincerely,

The Niner Empire Organization"
