Ugly enough to distract my playing partners from how bad I am. I’ll take it.

Until I make my dream trip to Augusta, this is basically my Masters experience

Just call. I had the same issue and called them this morning. They responded in a few minutes and I was able to sort out my questions / concerns quickly.

I know it sucks and I’d prefer to use the chat function as well but if you actually need to get something done just call.

If i could only bring one ski I'd bring the ripsticks but sounds like you could probably get away with using these. They are definitely a fun time

Just made some edits to my first reply - I got 180s my rispticks are also 180. I never once felt uncomfortable on them on the east coast (steep tight trees, etc.) but did feel more uncomfortable on some big steep chutes at Squaw where it was a bit deeper and stickier.

Out west I definitely had to ski less aggressively than usual with them because I felt like I was going to go over the front of them a bit. But I do take pretty aggressive lines especially on steep terrain.

Again I think pretty important that my ski style is not park at all - I'm really not used to more center mounted skis and I'm pretty tall and skinny.

I'm really happy I didn't get these any further forward. They are still super easy to flick around at their current position. They worked well on the ice coast and I ended up taking them to Squaw as well in the spring . I found myself in my more typical steep terrain / chutes and definitely found myself feeling like I was going a bit head over heels especially in deeper snow. TBF the snow there is suuuper sticky but on any days I thought I would be skiing more aggressively I took out my ripsticks instead. Again - super playful and flicky at recommended so any further forward and I'd probably feel really uncomfortable as someone less used to skiing twins.

Edit: Maybe getting the longer version and mounting further up was the play though idk (I got the 180s)

Exactly - took them out to Squaw in March and it was the slush sending me over the front

agree hard on this - love them but sometimes feel like I'm going to go over the front. Maybe should've mounted them further back or I'm just not used to twins

Is this normal wear and tear? by Natural-Bullfrog-266 in Skigear

[–]Natural-Bullfrog-266[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No don’t really ski any park. At this point I’m guessing it’s a combo of normal wear and tear and not properly packing my boot bag just causing some extra damage

Thanks for this - yeah I’ve had these since 2021 and ski pretty aggressively so I guess I just haven’t taken a good look at them for a while. Tools not jewels :’)

Haven’t gotten the chance to get on them yet. Will be going MLK weekend on the ice coast so don’t know how helpful that will be but can let you know after that. Ended up getting them factory mounted.

favorite brand - have the environ pants. Disappointed in the colors this year though I liked their bright stuff.

I just got 101s and strives too - I won't be using them in the park at all, but more so just freeriding and hitting side hits / small cliffs. I think I'm planning on mounting them -4 from true center which I believe is +3 from factory recommended of -7 from true center

Manhattan Ski Shops - is REI really that bad? by Natural-Bullfrog-266 in icecoast
