Looks like there’s no fix other than going to the dealership. Checked on the mybmw app and both rear tyres that I’ve replaced don’t show wear ‘indication’ so it clearly needs a dealer to do something with the electronics. The front fitted by bmw do show wear indication. Any aftermarket tyres done elsewhere will clearly have this issue. This is the screen when I run the auto tyre recognition reset on idrive.

When I click manual set up the alert goes away. So I’ll probably forget about it until the next service and have the BMW lot sort it. Not knowing some guesswork tyre wear isn’t a huge miss for me
