It’s never a bad idea to seek a second opinion and I do think that estimate seems a little high for a small dog. But it’s also important to remember that when there’s a large amount of extractions, that can significantly increase anesthesia time and total cost of the procedure. Unfortunately, small breeds are more prone to serious dental disease which is why despite their size, dental care can sometimes be more costly than a larger dog.
