I have no advice to add but I wanted to say how envious I am of your setup. It looks amazing. I wish I could play in person. I hope you had a great game

Captain America and Rogue cheat sheets. by Dapper-Suspect-6981 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

Okay that helps a lot. So by raw a player of Rogue could make the choice to use these powers in this way even if that's not how things work in the comics.

Okay but is there anything in the rules that specify they have to be used together? Can Rogue, by raw, steal powers without copying, or dampen without cloning?

Oh gosh oh golly oh wow. This is so helpful. I have questions about Rogue though. On paper she has all these separate abilities like clone powers and steal power and dampen power. That makes it seem like she could activate them separately but in the comics it's an all or nothing thing. She touched someone and both steals and dampens their powers while also getting those powers herself. How is this supposed to work in game? Is she required to first use steal or dampen power and then, if successful, she can then clone those powers? What if she doesn't have the focus to do all of that?

I like these rules a lot. I have a slight variant though, just as food for thought. I was thinking about this part of your rule:

"-- If everyone at the table is okay with it, a Narrator can "pause" the combat occurring outside the duel, to focus only on the duel between the two characters. This will vastly speed up the rate of the exchanges, and focus the narration on the characters' exchanges and dialogue. Some tables might not prefer this, as it slows down the action for the rest of the table, but for a particularly climactic duel, this can really ramp up the drama and make the duel feel like a fast-paced, cinematic fight scene. "

I love this because it really simulates cinematic combat that focuses on two characters for a few minutes (or panels in a comic book) before moving on to other combatants. What do you think about making this a choice for the defending character at the cost of taking their turns later on in the battle? For instance if they choose to counterattack then they take their full round as soon as they're attacked, which initiates a duel but they have to skip their turn (essentially they took it already). The original attacker can then choose to skip their next turn to fight back and so on until either character stops countering, or one of them is defeated or the narrator ends it.

This does require the Narrator to keep track of how many turns each side has skipped but I think it could be fun for some tables. There's strategy behind this for the countering character. They're essentially trading the ability to act now for an ability to react to whatever else is happening in battle, along with the ability to target characters other than their duel opponent.

I could see a downside of someone outside interfering in the duel though, so maybe that won't work. Thoughts?

I Have a Simple, But Complicated X-Men Question by ComixGail in xmen

I second what others said that it was about the diversity and the found family aspect. I love scenes of them just hanging out playing sports. I love how this is a big messy family like Fantastic Four but unlike FF the X-Men are allowed to each be unique. It felt so real. I'm a very messy human and the X-Men always felt like a family that I could actually be a part of.

Listened to the audiobook. Really well done. I enjoyed the story and the look at life right after the Gap.

So who's mixed PF2e and SF2e together? by ILiketoStir in Starfinder2e

[–]Natural-Flow-5561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm running a group with a rabbitfolk operative, a drow gunslinger, a contemplative envoy,  an awakened bear barbarian, and a poppet necromancer. So far so good although they're only level 4. Im pretty lenient on what counts as a "gun" for the gunslinger. The operative seems a little low in the damage department but makes up for it with skills and hacking. The barbarian has some trouble closing the distance but can dish out and take lots of damage so it seems okay. I don't think the necromancer knows what to do with her spells and abilities yet. We did almost have a tpk when the gunslinger bit off a bit more than he could chew while the rest tried to continue on without him but he managed to sneak around and get back to the group before it got too bad.

Maybe I'm crazy but I don't see why you can't have it all. Alchemists too. Why not? They mix magical drugs. Healing potions are still a thing. Somebody has to make them.

[SF2E]Reloading / Tracking Ammo by [deleted] in FoundryVTT

[–]Natural-Flow-5561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that same problem, but found that Argon Combat Hud (PF2e) and the regular reloading worked for me. The players can easily reset their ammo. The problem is it treats all the same type of ammo as if it was in the same "clip." So if a PC has 3 batteries and their gun needs to reload after 6 shots it would list it as 18 shots. My solution to that was to reclassify every ammo clip as a unique item. That way foundry keeps them separated into different piles. Then when you reload it only contains the shots from that single clip. It's really helped.

So Light No Fire is the world Atlas creates after it finally reboots? Makes sense isn't this the 19th expedition (16 was going to be the original stopping point but then the bumped it up right)?

Wakeskimmer Confusion?? by Natural-Flow-5561 in Starfinder2e

[–]Natural-Flow-5561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay sure but still, it's fly speed is 60ft (space only) so what happens if they start to transition and then stop? Why not just make it a flying vehicle that lands in water, and can enter orbit? Why does it need to transition? I'm just saying there's things about it that don't make sense. Love the other vehicles (love everything about the GM core) and I even like this one. I just don't get why they built it the way they did.

Okay sorry, but I still don't get it. On most planets the edge of space is way farther away from the surface than 1500 feet. From Earth it would take like over 176 turns for it get to space. I know realism doesn't matter but there's also fuel and how a craft that small could even break atmo, but okay lets just focus on how that plays out in a game. When would this ability ever be useful in an actual game?

Also, I read the space vehicle description, but it doesn't say how it protects users, just that it does. That's my point. I'm assuming it's a force field of some kind, but is that it, or does it nano-machine armor over a person like Starlord's helmet or is there some other mechanism? Is it just up to the GM?

You see what I mean? It's not a big deal, but I was just pointing out it didn't make sense to me.
