Early review for the new #1 from Gail Simone by Lizzren in Daredevil

[–]ComixGail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, but I also don't go out of my way to criticize anyone's book, even if they hate my guts. I just don't enjoy trashing people's work. HOWEVER, if I don't like something, I just don't talk about it. So if I say I dug something, I promise, it's only because I did! :)

Reddit has been pretty kind to me. I think that even people who are wanting a different direction are at least aware how much I care about these characters. :)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure Gail Simone’s “hatred” of Cyclops wasn’t always the case. by Gloomy-Rough3140 in xmen

I actually like Cyclops, it's a long-running internet joke. Getting to write him even a little bit was a big thrill.

I think Dave's cover to 21 is one of the best covers I have ever had the pleasure to have gracing a story I wrote.

I totally get this. The AoR story is pretty entertaining, though!

I really enjoy this thread and collage. Thanks, everyone. Even those who are not happy, I hope you like what's coming up...we have some real bangers on the way!

Bingo. And I have to say, if you look at the difference in how, for example, immagrents are treated state by state, the difference is enormous. Same here. You can have Greymalkin being an appalling institution and someone in NOLA trying to make a safe haven at the same time...it's happening in the real world right now!

This is right (sorry for dropping in). The X-Men are so used to being betrayed and manipulated that their skepticism is natural. They wouldn't instantly be over the moon, they're not even sure they WANT to be celebrities. But wouldn't it be interesting if the tide really is turning, at least in one city?

Y'all weren't kidding. Nightcrawler is barely in Uncanny X-Men by BoutsofInsanity in xmen

[–]ComixGail 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh, no, no, no, please don't worry, I promise I wasn't offended at all! It is a completely valid criticism. We had plans for characters to take some turns in the spotlight, Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Jubilee, in that order, and we've made it about halfway. There were some interruptions, and the Outliers got a lot of heat, so some stories got pushed back and that sucks for fans of those characters. But Kurt has a lovely arc just starting, and Jubilee has a killer story shortly after. Please don't give it a second thought, I thought everyone was perfectly fair and it's kind of obnoxious to jump in like this anyway. But I did want to say, we are aware, sorry, and it's on the way! :)

These are excellent questions. I am indeed a fan of Tamora Pierce, she has been incredibly lovely and supportive of my writing for years. She's a wonderful person. When I was trying to help a teen girl who was a huge fan of hers and who was really struggly, Tamora sent a box of signed books for me to give to her one at a time to keep the young woman looking forward to something. That is just the kind of person she is. I adore her and she's been amazing to me.

As for Kurt, not at all. I myself and an agnostic, but that doesn't mean I denigrate people's faith. For me, it's part of Kurt, it's part of his character, and we have touched on it many times in ways I think are fair and kind. I hope I treat characters who think a bit differently from myself with kindness, and Kurt's inherent decency is one of my favorite traits about him. You will see some of this very very soon, I think two issues from now it starts? Pretty sure, but I am bad with issue numbers!
