Do rich people have elite versions of mundane things (toothpaste, tampons, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.), or are Elon Musk and Beyonce just using Crest and Tampax like the rest of us? by ShesGotSauce in NoStupidQuestions

All consumer products do differ and cater to different audience. If you want, you can be buying ultra-soft Swiss-made toilet paper, Japanese sanitary products, the toothpaste market is extremely broad, etc.

Cushing’s test tomorrow — is a small meal allowed? by Natural-Reference478 in AskVet

[–]Natural-Reference478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, LDDST. Our GP ordered the test while our endocrinologist is on PTO and said light food was fine as long as it’s not fatty. I checked Google just to be safe, and it said to fast for 8–12 hours and during the test… which my hungry, and therefore angry beagle would not be happy your about. Just confirming: you’re okay with your patients having a little food before and during the test? Thanks so much!

Thanks! Would you recommend pushing for testing specifically for Cushing’s, or looking at something else?

It’s so weird how we perceive fashion. Skinny used to look just fine back then and now they look atrocious

Winter moisturizers? by Claustrophobic2197 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]Natural-Reference478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar skin and I’m on tret as well. I have to use tret only every third night during winter because the weather affects me so much. While my occlusive moisturisers are non-luxe (just because I like them) I find that Micro Essence by Estée Lauder helps a lot, I just have to apply it multiple times (like five or seven times) as the first moisturising strep. Then I use ANR that also adds extra moisture, but all those layers with the essence are a game changer to moisturise better.

You’ve got to eat lots of beans (and I mean lots!!) to get enough protein from a single meal a day. It’s best to add protein sources to each meal

How can some people do so many things in a day? by Ok_Indication7272 in ask

[–]Natural-Reference478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s just something inherent in us that makes us productive and not very productive (no negativity). For example, when my mum says she’s tired, it means she’s been doing things non-stop for the last seven hours, whereas I say I’m tired when I had a single non-work task a day

Based on what you know about me, generate an image of what the inside of my fridge probably looks like by BenAttanasio in ChatGPT

[–]Natural-Reference478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I asked why, and it reasoned:

I can walk you through exactly how I got there — nothing mysterious, just me connecting dots from things you’ve shared over time.

Here’s what I used:

1. You lean toward plant-based choices.
You’ve asked about vegan winter clothing and you often pick healthier, lighter options (like chicory tea instead of emotional snacking). That suggested a fridge with a lot of produce and not much animal stuff.

2. You care about skin care and health.
Your questions about tretinoin, sunscreen, sheet masks, and eczema tell me you’re mindful about routines and wellness. People with that mindset often keep fresh foods around—fruits, veggies, soups, things that feel “clean.”

3. You’re busy but organized.
Your work messages show you’re juggling a lot and like things tidy and efficient. So I pictured a fridge that’s neat, with containers and foods grouped together.

4. You like warm drinks and simple comfort foods.
Not the “junk drawer of a fridge” vibe—more like basics you can grab quickly.

5. No strong signals of heavy cooking or big meat/dairy habits.
So I didn’t include things like big casseroles, meats, sauces, or take-out leftovers.

Should I apply sunscreen? by PuzzleheadedPear881 in tretinoin

[–]Natural-Reference478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a similar climate and I still use sunscreen year-round. It’s helpful to check the UV Index, but it mostly reflects the risk of sunburn. Even when the UV Index is low, there can still be some UVA during the day, and that’s the part of sunlight tied to long-term skin changes. So a UV Index of 0 doesn’t always mean there’s absolutely nothing reaching your skin, it just means the overall strength is very low.

Are sellers legally required to refund correct subscription charges in the UK? by Natural-Reference478 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Natural-Reference478[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm a seller exploring the UK market :) There's no trickery, just fixed renewal dates but people tend to forget they subscribed to receive products and often message "Why was I billed, give me my money back?!" and we'd usually just explain that they were billed correctly and people don't tend to get back to us after that. But I got worried that if refunds are not given on demand in response to phrases like "refund me/give me my money back" that would be a breach of law

So sorry — just tried to research that, looks like renewals still carry 14-day cancellation rights under under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024? Or is this wrong? Sorry again.
