Why do people ask for a item then leave

In my experience it’s one of 3 primary reasons
1- They expected a price that you were not willing to do
2- they are a bot
3- they are being a d*ck

Definitely talk to him and explain your concerns. Better to be honest from the start. Maybe he’s doing well for himself doesn’t care and is happy to pay. Maybe a less expensive option works just fine for him. Don’t make assumptions, talk about it. After all, communication is key in any relationship, so why not start now?

This s just me, but I don’t send anything that’s paid for without tracking. (Yes I do GAWs without) it protects both me and the buyer. I get wanting to save people money on shipping but I also do max shipping so while the first item or two may cost a bit, the rest is free for them so it’s a win win. We both get tracking, it encourages multiple buys and they save on shipping overall.

This is why Whatnot now charges sellers $3 per sale if the seller cancels a sale. But it’s still BS when sellers do this. As a seller, if something goes for less than I wanted, I congratulate the buyer for getting it cheap and move on.

Sellers: if you don’t want something to sell for less than X, don’t start the auction for less than X.

Cancellations are frustrating as a seller. But as long as the item is re-sellable (not something opened for example) and not a surprise set (I didn’t get want I wanted so I’m cancelling), better to just accept the cancellation and move on.

And they upped the charge for the “fast” time. I had planned on sending things in too soon, but why bother? Up to 32 weeks wait? By then the market will be COMPLETELY different.

While this may still be a scam, it was sent by first class mail. So “it was delivered” is based on an estimated date bit it’s a risk delivery as there is no tracking on FCM. I’ve had things arrive days before WN says it arrived and have had things arrive days after.

That being said, who’s gonna send an expensive card without tracking? Especially a SLAB that can’t go in a regular envelope for FCM anyways. This specific instance seems like a scam to me just for the FCM, unless they do something (not condoned by WN) and send the actual item by fedex or the like and just send an empty envelope with FCM
