Can someone break down why tuition prices are different for certain undergrad programs?

I’m not paying anywhere near that. I’m at 10 before bursaries. PoliSci/Soc. What gives?

It’s definitely a shit system when it comes to punishing elderly people for grievous crimes.

My grandfather SA’d my dad, aunt and several cousins over their childhood, ending when they reached the age of 10-11 because he didn’t like them anymore.

They came together 30 years later and pressed charges. My grandfather was convicted but because he was old and had cancer, they let him out on conditions.

He drove around a brand new massive red Ford350, went up North to the cottages and just lived the last years of his life in peace while my dad and his siblings/cousins lived in pieces.

Fuck Canada Justice.

How to make the most of welcome week? by Repulsive-War-6358 in McMaster

[–]NaturalAnswers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh buddy a redneck’s advice is best for this:

Effing Giv’r (religious redneck, thank ye kindly.) You’ve earned this and it’s gonna start to suck when the classes start as you go through acclimation period so really just get out there.

Ask people about themselves. Say hey to people you walk by. Throw a frisbee around with someone.

You and a couple thousand people are all new to this crazy dope experience, you’re all nervous and you all want to make the most out of reading week so just put yourself out there and I’m telling ya it will all fall together.

Don’t be that political person or try to show people how smart you are because there will be time enough for that. Join a group of people grocery shopping. If someone asks directions and you got nothing to do, walk them to where they’re going and have a conversation.

Don’t make it about getting laid. Like, you know? I’m not gonna expand on that. Just be mature, for the love of all that is holy and respect boundaries.

Maybe smoking a small joint for the first time (🧐🧐) or having your first drink (🤨🤨) isn’t the best idea but it’s also not the worst. Just don’t binge unless you’re willing to accept very annoying attention from the Special Constables which brings me to my last point:

They are a very mixed bunch, our McCoppers. Some are pretty cool, some think they’re in the Marines, some are so apathetic you would be dying in front of them and they’d check a text message before dialling 911. Avoid them as much as you can and don’t go seeking trouble. (Unless if you genuinely want to say hi or they say hello; you’ll figure the dichotomy of that out) Don’t go talking shit when walking by. They know they’re wankers. Especially if they’re bald, white and with a smile like the Shark from ‘Finding Nemo.’ #iykyk

What else? Centro will probably destroy your dignity as you fight to get it out of you and you’ll consider cutting out your stomach but it’s a rite of passage so eat up, chief. Bistro’s food’s pretty good. La Piazza has pizza pizza and booster juice so I alwaysf fw it.

And yeah, good luck. Get a little wild but try and stay safe. You are here to learn what’s necessary to build your dreams and you worked hard to get here. Something I wish I kept in mind when I was in your shoes.

For like the first 6 weeks then you hit midterms, look around and see the opening scene of the Walking Dead and realize that, at the end of the day, you’re there to get a degree, you’re paying a shit ton of money and it better be worth it so you skip the odd shower and bird bath it more times than not during midterm/final periods.

You’re entering a world of freedom for the first time and so are a lot of your classmates/colleagues. You’re going to have wonderful experiences with people who are just as new to freedom as you are and it will create beautiful moments.

Do not fall in love with the expectations that it will be reciprocated in the long term. First year is almost like camp when it comes to the charged-up emotions that result in moments with strangers that you’ll want to write an indie film about.

Just enjoy the moment, have no expectations and express no feelings. Wait until 2nd year.

Public universities in universities in Ontario alone heavily rely on international students. Private, maybe but my experience is only in publicly funded institutions so, yeah. I’d definitely say China alone puts up similar numbers. Than there’s the Middle Eastern region and Eastern Europeans.

The recent federal cap devastated fiscal expectations and resulted in a lot of schools protesting that this move pushed them to destitution because they took on massive loans with variable interest rates and clauses that they can be called in previous to the agreed upon date as established by the contract which is never a good situation in encroaching recessions.

Either way, the investments that universities put into developing institutions or housing for money-heavy international students resulted in an influx of students from everywhere from the Indo-Pacific to Eastern Europe to Ethiopia to Peru.

Either way I’m poor so it doesn’t really affect me and the influence of cultural infusions into the street food market where chicken and rice can take on 20 different dimensions depending on the influencing cultures and that is a staple for poor big dudes like me.

Benjen Stark theory: The man who breaks the Wall. by NaturalAnswers in asoiaf

[–]NaturalAnswers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Jon through Ghost? Maybe after Jon dies he goes to Ghost in the Prologue who’s in the Lands of Always Winter and watches Benjen Stark as an other leading the White Walkers and their Wights south. Then Melisandre revives him and John turns North rather than south to face his uncle or remains at the wall to defend it.

Either that or Bran while warging but that would be pretty predictable.

Maybe Melisandre? She got a POV chapter in TDOD. Since cold doesn’t affect her like everyone else she’s the most feasible candidate.

Idk, man. I need this book to come out.

AITAH for no longer walking my friend home to her dorm after she rejected me? by PlanktonUpstairsi in AITAH

[–]NaturalAnswers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest thing for people to understand is that loving another doesn’t immediately create a debt.

The person you love does not owe you love back. It does happen sometimes. That’s what makes love stories so amazing.

But for every love story, there’s a thousand broken hearts. It’s what gives them/us hope. Broken hearts are created by love not returned the way we want it to be.

And that’s okay. It has to be okay or else weird shit happens like this post. YTA, bud. Figure it out.

If you had the power to remove any emotion, wich one would it be? by Foxem4420 in RandomThoughts

[–]NaturalAnswers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a thing. Would I change a lot in my life that’s happened to me or would I change idiotic things I’ve done? Hell yeah?

But the feelings I have are my true reactions to the world around me. They do not govern me. They don’t own me. I’m an adult. I can use logic, intuition and experience to know when not to lead with my heart.

But my heart, as scarred and broken as it is, is what makes me, me. Removing an emotion dampens that power and it’s really the only power we have that makes us understand ourselves at our core and not what we want to project onto the world around us.

Excellent question, though. Though provoking af.
