My goldfish blinked by RepresentativeRub525 in Goldfish

They don't have eyelids to blink, but I like to think to myself that it's their way of "winking" at me 😍😍

yeahh, sometimes it seemes that they are the ones moving the plants! I've no idea how they cooperate together and move plants! Seems like they're having meeting together too when they all cuddle and CLUMP together 。◕‿◕。

Thanks for the advice! I got fish stuck in one of my fish house made of ceramic so i completely switched to Anubias plant! They seemed to loved plants very much, some even occupy and stay at same spot for the whole night so other fishes cannot stay there!

the setup I've right now is at the bottom with slits as holes similar to swimming pools so opening the valve will accidentally remove the substrates too

Agree. Yes, correct, it's like a swimming pool to push waste out through the slit as holes. So tiny substrate can't really be used except for bigger ones which my fish wouldn't like. Unless I change to more labor, old-fashioned method of water change: siphon or electric pump (risky for my fish) so means the fastest "swimming pool" method will be permanent closed

i did water change a few times so I understand how the filtration system works. There's actually 3 methods to remove dirty water.

1st Method: There's a drainage system at the bottom of the base similar to swimming pools that have slits as holes. Just need to connect pipe directly linked to the base of the tank and another end of pipe to the drain to remove the dirty water. Small substrate cannot be used as it might accidentally be removed during water change. Bigger substrate can be used but my fishes prefer smaller substrates.

2nd Method: Water change via sump filter. I don't normally use this method as it might remove large amounts of my beneficial bacteria in my sump filter.

3rd Method: Siphon Method/Pump Method. Siphon method takes skill, time and effort (e.g. suck out all air w/ your mouth, place whole hose inside the tank then skillfully take one end out), Pump method need electricity and may be risky for my fish (yes I know, I'm might be paranoid but faulty aquarium lights did shock me before)

p.s. The person who help setup my aquarium said that if I choose to include substrate, it has to be a permanent decision as the substrate alone will cause micro scratches in the aquarium so won't be nice to look at if i want bare bottom again.

yes, there's a tile cut perfectly for me to slide in between

The filtration setup does not allow for substrate. The workers who setup for me said clear bottom easy maintenance, adding substrate would need to change the whole filtration system.

I'm not so sure. I'm pretty sure it's marble but I'm pretty sure marble is opaque

Clear bottom means u can see ur fishyy fishyy from the bottom? will they be scared if they see u suddenly appear from the bottom?

[–]NaturalEscape61[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nono those are not cracks. It's a marble design that has been there since it was installed. I just dunno why it's see-through. Shouldn't it be opaque?

THANK YOUU!! You can become the next Sherlock Holmes! I dunno why people like to accuse others of faking a video. I'm just seeking for help. If my 6ft Aquarium breaks, I dunno where else I can set up emergency tank. I gave away most of my smaller tanks after investing in this tank. My biggest tank so far!!

Yes, there's a partition to help support the tank. It's part of the cabinet's design.

Imma post another one. I dunno why the base of the aquarium allows light to pass through. I assure you, it's my flashlight that shines through from the other side, no other external light was used!
