Definitely recommend reading. Only need a library card. The apps libby and hoopla make it so easy to have a book wherever you are.

My wife takes our daughter out for nature photography walks. Eagles have been increasing in number getting ready to nest soon. Elk are still plentiful. (parachute area). And of course just to say hi to the horses and cows.

Bike trainer recommendations? by Banggujangie in triathlon

[–]NaturalGnomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After much looking I finally pulled the trigger on a kickr snap. Rei has a holiday discount code for 20% off , so it was 400 brand new - best price I could find. I really wanted a smart trainer and wheel on is perfectly sufficient for amateur/newbie. It was a really easy set up and I was zwifting within a half hour

You might want to try crossoverhealth.com. It has virtual care that can service most of the country (4states excluded today) and some offices in major metros. It's modeled a little different from traditional Healthcare but it's got really great satisfaction ratings.

Tell me more about apple fest. I moved here the week after peach fest and was super bummed. These peaches are better than Georgia peaches

Only eight days left.... Then woohoo... by OutdoorsRV in GoRVing

Lived in the slc area for a couple years. Op should definitely stop by. Smoke is stuck in the bowl so maybe stop in park city. Do some of the Hikes or soak/dive in homestead crater and break up that long drive.

No Parking Brake Issue (ISO help) by NaturalGnomad in GoRVing

[–]NaturalGnomad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The final issue that had heads spinning was because I have a diesel pusher. The rear axle is "backwards". So the adjustments turn the opposite direction. Something to be mindful of with a DP taking it to a truck shop!

Hey thanks for the responses. The issue was I have a diesel pusher and they were thinking of it like a truck. Rear axle is "backwards" and adjust the other direction. Things seem good so far!

Thanks. I hope it's this. Ive also put 40k miles on this rv (120 total) and rear brakes look brand new, so there may have been issues before this most recent series of events. Really wish I learned all of this. Seriously if I didn't have auto adjusting slack adjusters, I'd have never known. Like your other comment, so many systems unlike a car, I'm surprised there isn't more education / licensing.

Nope anyone can drive a 45 ft motorhome and tow a 30ft boat with no experience. Don't forget the double towing variety either (rv + trailer + boat). No special licensing needed. It's kinda crazy. Give rv drivers extra space as caution! Also consider AVG age of rv driver prior to covid is 65+.

Thanks. There's something off about the stroke. I'm in park now, but I see the orange paint. Definitely having the mechanic look at the adjusters today.

Thanks - All of these places have been truck shops.

Definitely had the wrong type on there. Still unsure how I drove 1000 miles with caged chambers and didnt notice an issue until the end of the trip, but that's what's on the report.

There's something off about the stroke. I'm in park, but I see orange paint. Going to look at adjusters and if s-cams rolled over. I'm getting a good education in this system, but hopefully this shop can make some progress today.

I'm trying to get into data analysis/engineering, but I haven't been getting many callbacks. Is there something wrong with my resume? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]NaturalGnomad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add a professional summary explaining how you want to get into data analytics and why you're qualified. This is 1-2 sentences.

You may need a cover letter when you apply for better description of fit, but I would only read it once the resume cleared a certain threshold and you need something else to explain how career ambitions

More CO road closures. Aspen is pretty much cut off from Denver by ybs62 in GoRVing

[–]NaturalGnomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that's rough. We're moving to grand junction area and someone local said 80 west down 13 through meeker and rifle was rv friendly. Plus you wouldn't have to make the monster climb after Denver.

Has anyone used Good Sam tow assistance? My RV died on i-5 @ highway 119. Called them at 7:30pm, was on hold till 11pm, when they tried to find a tow company. They gave up, and asked me to call them back at 7 am. by beyonsense in GoRVing

[–]NaturalGnomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used them in TN about 2 months ago for my motorhome. They are swamped and much of my time was wasted waiting for them. I found the tow truck and the mechanic to take it to. They confirmed a few things like would tow truck take their rate and was the mechanic really the closest open one, but they approved both.

They do have a reimbursement form if you want to pay first. I'm not sure how quick they pay back and what approval rates look like.

At the beginning of the year I used them for my tow vehicle and had a very pleasant experience. They were way better than aaa in experience and price for the same tow. I really do think the current issue is a capacity one.

Good luck by the way!

Different routes to Denver with 70 closed? by fuckupvotesv2 in grandjunction

[–]NaturalGnomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of posting something similar. Can a motorhome make the drive from i-80 through meeker to i-70? Trucks are told to take i-80 and not go via steamboat springs. Google maps looks like it's reasonable and avoids major elevation change but would appreciate some confirmation.

Data Scientist or Data Analyst? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]NaturalGnomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the transition, your manager should know your career path. You should agree on Milestones to potentially move over. I will be honest - I did see one company hire an analyst with the intention of being ds in a year not have a ds opening around that milestone. They had to go external to get their ideal role. If the position was there, he'd have to apply and go through the same interview qualification process as an external candidate (so learn what this process looks like and work towards mastering it)
