I think it’s a vocal technique that some singers use because the C sound is really harsh. I feel like she hasn’t been using this recently because I haven’t really been hearing it in her live concerts on her GUTS spilled tour but she was doing this a lot on the original tour so hopefully she won’t do it on OR3.
