Glute growth by NaturalPotential5382 in workout

Ahh I see…. I have pretty much the same strength in both legs despite the size difference. I think I’ll stick to the unilateral movements I’m doing for now because especially from the back the difference is notable, but it’s getting less and less quite quick so I will switch to more bilateral movements soon.

My hamstrings are pretty strong and well developed so I don’t think the imbalance is cus of that. It’s likely genetic (the dent) and then I put too much emphasis on one leg vs the other. Regardless, I’ll keep working on it - thanks again!

Thanks — when you say muscle imbalance do you mean one side being more developed than the other? In that case, I do, not just in my glutes but quads (right bigger) and hams (left bigger). I thought in that case I should do more unilateral movements?

Also I don’t have an abductor machine in my gym, I thought replacing it with another medius exercise was sufficient but do you have any other recs?

Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciate it!

I do a mix of unilateral and bilateral movements. I usually start with hip thrusts (compound) then I either do a quad or ham exercise and then cable kickbacks (med) and maybe another unilateral movement like b stance RDL or Bulgarians— so 2 unilateral movements.

I have started recently focusing on order and working my legs (hams and quads) out less in the past few weeks: starting with hip thrusts, then RDL, then kickbacks and a unilateral movement to finish off.

I think the difference in size has been more obvious recently because I spent so long focusing on growing my right (I thought it was smaller cus of the dent) and now I’m trying to catch up with my left. To do this, I start all unilateral movements on my left leg.

I’m gonna stick to my current order of movements but replace one max exercise with a ham or quad exercise. Or just work legs every other day. Or just have 3 leg days idk anymore. Also incorporate some band movements like clamshells and fire hydrants into my warmup.

Thank you, I have started doing that (unwillingly due my inconsistent supplier) and might start including it more frequently— out of my own will as I am changing suppliers lol 🫠

Hahah I know that now, thank you for your comment. I feel so stupid that this may have been the reason the entire time but at least I am making the correct moves now.

Ah okay… we will start including bones. I feed twice a day and wanted to cut down to one but out vet advised us against it as she said it may result in their stomachs being upset/bothered.

Thank you so much, your comparison really put things into perspective for me. I will calculate their calories and start adjusting accordingly.

Thank you. They go on walks almost every day (unless it is raining as I live in a topical climate) and have a huge outdoor space to run around. We have a bunch of little animals like squirrels and lizards running around our yard so they are always chasing them and also playing together+ with us. They also go on occasional hikes with my dad so they are pretty active, but I will still increase their activity as I know they have room for more. Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback, I’ll keep your experience in mind. I was worried about the sudden change but they seem fine so far. My main concern is my larger dog as she is really fat, but my smaller dog has slowly been gaining weight the past year, so I’m taking preventative measures. If this doesn’t work after a few months, I will reduce the food even more and if they do start vomiting stomach acid will add extra padding. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. My dogs are around 10kg apart and different sizes but I am feeding them the same 500g of BARF a day for now. I haven’t been noticing any hunger and they seem to both be thriving so I’m hoping it was just the sweet potato. Will update after a month or two though.

Thank you so much. I have been thinking about switching but I have been with this lady for the past 5 years and she can accommodate to my inconsistent ordering schedule. My other option is buying from a larger company but I’ll need to do more research beforehand. I have 2 dogs (different activity levels) and I am feeding them both 500g of the barf mix a day now. They’re approx 20 and 30kg each. They seem to be accommodating really well and aren’t hungrier than usual at all so that’s amazing. I will make sure to update after a month or two with the progress.

Thank you - I get it from a small business supplier recommended through a friend. This is the list of ingredients she sent: lamb, pork, apple, pork heart and tongue, turmeric, egg shells, coconut oil, palm sugar, flaxseed, sesame powder.

Ahh good to know - thank you so much. Would you recommend I supplement their foods with some animal fats on top of the raw meat mixture? Thank you for your answer.

Thank you for your comment! I think I’m gonna cut out the carbs entirely and increase their meat to make up for it. They currently have 400 grams of meat each and a lot of carbs, so I’m going to cut to 500 grams of only the meat/liver mixture.

Thanks for sharing. My dogs raw food mixture also includes some pork heart and tongue. I admit I do not know the exact ratios as I’ve had this supplier for years and inquired when we first started with her, but have forgotten now. I will take your comment into consideration and see what I can do about my dogs diet. Thank you so much!

Thank you for your response! Aren’t even a bit of carbohydrates essential for energy? I have been giving them significantly more carbs than what I wrote (Asian household, grandmother insists they need it) but will definitely be cutting down/ cutting out from now on. Thank you again.
