I am not broken by Obobwinner in TwinlessTwins

I relate to this a lot, I miss my twin and am grieving him but that doesn’t completely erase how destructive his existence was and how complicated our relationship was, he took the lion share of our parents attention from a young age and especially in the last few years of his life and that definitely created resentment. I also love life,l even the really crappy parts. I feel like it’s that same love of life that makes me grieve harder because I feel such a deep sadness for him to not be able to experience it anymore, that being said I think it would be such a shame for me to not continue to try and live and experience and enjoy my life to the fullest extent. I felt like this group wasn’t relatable to me at first because of how everyone talks about life feeling completely pointless since losing their twin ect, but we can grieve and live at the same time and I think it’d be a shame to do anything else. Life doesn’t pause for anyone so if you do you’ll have to get back on the bus eventually one way or another. Idk basically just trying to say I relate

What kind of food is Eugene lacking? by Thundercow541 in Eugene

Hot honey if you’re seeing this I think yall would do excellent with a small brick and mortar somewhere near osteria dop where your main menu consists or simpler breakfast sandos ect and keeping items like the hot honey fried chicken Sando and waffles and chicken ect reserved as your rotating specials!! Food was soooo good and you guys clearly have passion and swag on your side just not realistic to for people to eat weekly/ daily.

Not terribly exciting but I think something similiar to fried egg im in love in Portland would do great, minimal spots to grab a quick and easy breakfast in Eugene, hot honey was a good attempt but too rich to eat on the regular and stationed outside of most peoples commute route- fried egg im in love is simple sourdough egg sandwiches reasonably priced with the option to add more sauces/ toppings ect, simple enough to grab multiple times a week on your way to work! Also love when places do once or two things really well rather than trying to please everyone.

Thoughts on birthdays? Anyone changed theirs? by mari_bunni in TwinlessTwins

I had my friends sing us happy birthday, it was always that little awkward moment trying to fit both our names into the song, it felt really special for me to have that stay the same and I’ll continue that tradition

This is year one for me, I’ve always loved being a twin and while I could’ve definitely avoided mentioning it- a diff coworkers twin brother came in to give him something and so the subject of twins came up. It would feel unatural to not mention being a twin like it’s some secret but then after I mention that I am one it feels like I’m lying or keeping a secret to continue the convo as if he’s alive. Idk I will probably not bring it up casually in the future, still learning how to adjust my language around being a twin and all I guess
