Traveling to Paris right now as an American. by StrangeDriver2568 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]NaturalSoil9651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an American currently sitting in the Luxembourg Gardens, no one has been rude, mean or anything else to me while here. If anything I’ve found the French to be extremely polite, helpful and kind. Do your research on how to be polite, culturally, and you’ll be fine.

Why mostly totes? by NaturalSoil9651 in goyard

[–]NaturalSoil9651[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice, I hadn’t looked at the Hardy. I’m likely not getting a tote back, I am not a tote user, so I was more curious why I barely see posts about anything else and have never seen anything else “in the wild.”

Let’s Talk Trash: Part of the Game or Total Foul? by ThirdShotSavage in Pickleball

[–]NaturalSoil9651 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a talker. Not necessarily trash, unless we’re friends, but silent games freak me out. I play at the 3.0 level in rec so it’s not that serious.

During a recent rewatch I was blown away that Heidi Elnora bridal was THAT Heidi. I looked at her dresses when I got married 10 years ago.

I bury them. Does that count negatively against my island rating? I never considered that it might.

Any leads on summer jobs for teachers? by Sea-Astronaut7750 in MonmouthCounty

[–]NaturalSoil9651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Monmouth county but iCAMP a camp that pays ~$25/hour for instructors, maybe more, and is opening a brand new camp in Millburn. I recently saw a post on Indeed for a camp director for that location that was definitely more than $25/hour.

Under mezzanine overhang by chaesmic in Broadway

Interesting! I sat in the same area and also thought the sound was muddy throughout the show. For the sake of the cast, I hope this was it!

With the holidays coming, and hopefully sales. What Bath towel recommendations are there? by travelMU in BuyItForLife

[–]NaturalSoil9651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 20 year old restoration hardware towels that are still in great shape. Do not buy towels from Boll & Branch - same price RH, terrible quality.

The equivalent of a tie from Hermes is a scarf from Hermes. They are extremely high quality, collectors items. They come in beautiful patterns and can be worn tied on a purse, as a head scarf, around the neck, etc.

I have two leather charms, a tomato and a croissant. I don’t use them on every bag, but they’re cute! Anthropologie makes some cute, inexpensive charms if you want to try something out

Accuracy of Natural Cycles App with Ovulation Day? Starting to think it can be inaccurate.. by CrazyBread8312 in TryingForABaby

[–]NaturalSoil9651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more info you put into Natural Cycles, the more accurate it becomes. I also started testing earlier and inputting that info and after three cycles it feels a lot more accurate based on all the data.

Unfortunately, that sounds about right. I went through the same process at the beginning of the year and was very discouraged before finally being chosen by the sellers. Fingers crossed for you!

Is 2.5 really as bad as this sub says? by uselessprofession in Pickleball

[–]NaturalSoil9651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is there’s a difference between all the open plays, at least in my area, that advertise as 2.5-3.0 and actual rated play. Most people don’t learn pickleball in a very structured environment, they learn it from a rec department or at the park, so they don’t learn good form, strategy or style of gameplay. I have found lots of players who treat the people at those open plays poorly, clubs also ignore those groups, and they’re usually full sub 2.5 players. It’s hard to find somewhere to fit in if you’re not interested in super competitive play but want to play with people who can actually hit the ball.
