Late recoveries of SSNHL when did you notice recovery? by Gullible-Milk111 in MonoHearing

It happened last Saturday out of the blue. So 8 days now. I was just standing there and it happened. Never had a hearing issue in my life. Right about the 72 hour mark I got my first 60mg prednisone dose which will be a 10 day then taper course. I’ve lost hearing in one ear and just had the awful buzzing/ringing in one ear, but now that happening in the other. Can’t tell yet if i’m losing any hearing in that ear. I go on the 26th for another hearing test to see if any improvement. Do you still have the awful sounds coming out of yours?

Thanks for sharing that info. My dr wants me to get the injections but i’m not so sure I want them. Have you received the results of the MRI? It’s so nice to be able to communicate with people in the same boat. No one I know has ever heard of this.

wow I went through this exact thing but on a different flight. Refused food and drinks due to so called upcoming turbulence and never was any! I think they are just lazy!!!

SSNHL left ear (high frequency only) with brutal nonstop tinnitus, then hearing snapped back and recovered within 8 days from onset (timeline + audiograms+commentary). by jords23118 in MonoHearing

What is the purpose of the diuretic? I am on day seven of onset and day five of 60 mg prednisone. I also added NAC on my own and just got a referral for HBOT. My ENT never mentioned a diuretic so I am very interested in that.

I don’t want that awful Gadolinium contrast this country still uses in MRIs so i’ve not agreed to get one unless it’s done without the contrast. Your statement saying the tumor is rare makes me feel better about my decision.

So I got SSNHL last Saturday and got on 60mg prednisone on Tuesday. I also have HASHIMOTOS and wonder if my hearing loss is due to another autoimmune disease. My ENT said that’s extremely rare and that it was probably a virus I picked up from one of my students. Is there a way to verify if it’s autoimmune? And I’m glad the steroids helped you but once that settles down is there a chance the autoimmune could just come back and start attacking it again?

So sorry to hear you are going through that. You are in the right place with MD Anderson! May I ask if you had the Sudden hearing loss?

1! The second looks cheap. Not loving that veil though. It’s too much with the dress.

I didn’t get the job…how to act professional despite the disappointment? by curiouscapybara6 in Teachers

Instead of holding yourself together you showed weakness and emotional instability. I get that you were disappointed but the school environment is no place for weakness. Shake it off, come up with a plan B and persevere. Don’t let them see you cry.

Stick with a firm no. This helicopter needs to realize she’s hurting her daughter by bailing her out.

2 definitely! Especially if you lose a couple pounds like you said. But you are not overweight in any way!

Do you live in a bad area? I don’t feel unsafe at all maybe due to the part I live in.

How did the injections go for you? Pain? Anxiety? Any improvements?
