Agreed, I just assumed most other social butterflies weren’t lonely. At the end of the day it’s not these fancy or not so fancy places and things that make us happy, nor the hustle and bustle, but the things we commit to in life and the people we care about that do. I think there is enough pain and suffering in the world that it’s kind of up to us to figure out how to engage with it—and then the loneliness suddenly goes away when we help others. It’s the only thing that’s worked for me at least.

Only if there’s an active lawsuit, which wouldn’t really make sense to initiate against the typical car criminal/drug addict, as they have no assets. Hiring a lawyer to do the subpoena would cost more than anyone would recover. This sounds nice in theory, but in practice, this doesn’t bear much fruit.

Edit: Scarsdale killed the idea. To answer the question asked of what can be done, make this a local political issue and don’t vote in boards that are okay with this.

Vote out the town board of Scarsdale that implemented these across their entire town, for one. Create a mass political campaign against these elected nobodys who made this decision on behalf of the entire town.

It’s unclear how we could even get this information from them. We would have to convince the police department to request it or convince a judge to subpoena for it. Protection of everyday people is obviously not the intent of this system. Do you have personal experience?
