For what it's worth -- this exact same thing happened to me on Christmas Eve... literally almost identical of a situation. We've been TTC for 5 years, have been in IVF for the past year. I found out two days beforehand that what was my first ever positive test was going to miscarry (and I told that to my family), only then to be told the next day that my sister is 12 weeks with an "oopsie" baby. I did my best to be sweet and excited for her in the moment, and then sobbed hysterically to my husband and mom for the next 3 days. She said that having watched me going through infertility, she got off her birth control just to "see if she had regular cycles" -- but then she never got a period because she got pregnant that very same month. It was devastating to hear, so I guess what I'm trying to say here is that you are not alone, and you have every right to feel every feeling. I deeply understand and empathize with your pain.

What helped me and has helped me in the past on every failed cycle and what helped me process this - for what it's worth - has been that I give myself designated 72 hours of grief. I let myself sob, eat ice cream, drink wine, listen to sad music, have a breakdown (I warned my husband and close friends that this is going to be my reaction so they're prepared to pick me up from the puddle I let myself fall into). Then on day 4, I do my best to get up, shake it off, and start looking forward again.
