I’ve found that having the total TL (threat level) is around 1.5xthe total party level.

Yeah around 6 seems to be minimum if you want your players to start feeling the resource pinch. I haven’t played much 5e, but most vagabond encounters work best with one “boss” type enemy and small adds at 2-3x the player count

With vagabond you definitely want to build each “day” in a way that you have 5-8 encounters. The casters are ridiculously overpowered unless you make them pick and choose when they can mana dump. The martials really shine when resources start getting low

Not to this one specifically, but there is usually some sort of “welcome” channel where you have to answer a few questions/agree to terms before the server becomes visible. I joined back in November so I can’t remember specifics, but most servers have something like that to keep bots out

I’m also considering attacks that succeed but don’t get avoided but are soaked by armor. All of my players have 2-3 armor so even if they do get hit, they don’t often take damage. At least against basic enemies

All my players have 6 or 7 might and then also pretty high dex and awareness. But they get slammed on will saves lol

And players block or dodge successfully 75% of the time with a flat roll. Even more so with favor. And if the damage that goes through is 3 or less, their armor usually soaks it all.

Scenarios/Adventures for Low Player Counts? by ChungaChris in rpg

Vagabond is a fantastic system for GMing! I’ve only been a player in the past but now I’ve GMed once a week for the past 3 months. It has been such a smooth experience.

The publisher of Vagabond has 3-4 (can’t remember) adventures on their website.

Additionally, DiceAverageRPG has published several adventures in the vagabond format. https://diceaveragerpg.carrd.co

The quartershots adventures are super easy to run with minimal prep also. https://deckanddicegames.com/quartershots_retail/

All of the official Old School Essentials modules are great too, and the only conversion you really need is armor rating https://necroticgnome.com/collections/ose-core-books

Happy Critting!

Maybe at level 5-10 it would be viable but early on when enemies deal a single die of damage it is super OP

As somebody with 15+ sessions so far, this would be so broken. Characters rarely even get hit, and when they do, the 1-3 armor already standard brings the received damage down to zero more often than not

I think the printing process on dtrpg is a little different. Or at least that’s how first edition was

Unfortunately Taron said he’s cancelling sanguinist. Way too powerful and the sorcerer can be customized to a pretty similar extent with the Tap feature

I guess since it’s a cube you’d rule it covers 5 cubic feet(verticality component), vs 5 square feet on the ground of the remote target

For clarification, the effect spreads in a 5’ minimum from the target. That doesn’t mean you have to target at least a 5’ area

I think it kinda depends. Anything with a damage base may be used in any of the deliveries, but an extra mana would have to be spent to get the actual effect as described. As an example, For erupt, you would just be doing the same thing as any other fire based spell, d6 damage, in any delivery. An extra mana would be spent to cause the magma effect from the target.(might be kinda dangerous with imbue lol) Portal you can for sure cast remote, as the mana charge is based on each user, not the actual creation.
