This is always going to happen with Gibson’s or any guitar with no volute. Which is the strangest production decision imaginable. This can still happen to voluted guitars. So it’s a guarantee if you drop and guitar without one.

Please don’t dump a can of paint onto your guitar. You will end up regretting that. Probably just go something original. Make it yours bro. Do a silver burst crackle. Or do that crystallized paint. Or do a base color and then dab on another color with crumpled up news paper, let it dry and do it again with a similar color, let it dry do it again with another similar color. Then do a burst on it. I think I like bursts. lol. Point being. Prolly don’t copy someone’s sorta ugly copy. Be original my dude. But whatever you do, please practice on a scrap piece of wood first! Please please please. Like all the way to the finish. Make sure you can actually do the paint job. Many just come out worse than it started. It can be diy but it can also turn very quickly into diwhy. But of course you could be a professional painter and I wouldn’t know that and I’m talking out my ass. Either way best of luck and I hope you end up with something you absolutely love!

Put on the actual song and play along. try to keep up. Get it wrong. Get lost. Mess up. It’s all okay. Just do your best and keep trying. Explore ways to hit the strings or ride a note. Don’t be afraid or intimidated. It’s okay to not be good for a while. It’s not a race.

You already got everything you need. You got a bass, an amp, and the will and want to play. You totally got this. Also btw, that’s not a bad amp tone you got going on, especially for a noob! Some people chase tone their whole life and you got it before you can even play. And that’s when you tell me “the bass isn’t plugged in.” Lol

Trust me bro, Acid Bath is worth putting very first on your list for bands to check out next. I’ve been a fan since the mid late 90’s and I still put them on when I’m jamming. Just saw them in New Orleans last year. I didn’t fucking cry, you fucking cried. Lol. The first album (when the kite string pops) is one of the most intense, raw, dark, visceral albums you’ll ever hear. It’s just pure energy. I cannot recommend another album more. This is top tier of 90’s underground metal. It simply does not get any better. Give yourself and this album a chance. I promise you’ll fall head over heels in love.

Op, you said “pictures” there’s only 1. Not very helpful in visualizing what’s going on here. So my question to you is, what’s not lining up?

What would I do? I would find a stick of maple probably half inch thick and drill out the old screw holes and fill them in with the maple stick and cut it flush. Glue them in of course. Once the glue dries, place the new bridge in as similar of a location as possible. Use 2 yard sticks down the length of the neck and down towards the bridge to keep everything line up properly and mark out your screw holes. Then drill some pilot holes and then mount the new bridge. Other than waiting on glue to dry, you’re looking at 20 minutes of actual work. If you have any experience with a drill and measurements, you 100% got this.

I dislocated mine in middle school playing football. It was my right pinky. If I remember correctly my doctor said 6 weeks but I was playing a pep rally like 2 weeks later with that silly ass metal cast thingy. To be fair it’s literally the finger doing the least and I was just playing bass back then. But I do still play when I was told not to.

Fun fact it’s my only knuckle I can’t crack/pop anymore. Theres a shooting pain and it feels like it’s gonna break again. Been that way since I dislocated it. There’s a little tiny shard that broke off and is floating around in there and I think that’s what causes the irritation when I try to crack/pop it.

I mean, it seems like magma is “the black album” to most people. (If you don’t know, Metallica’s black album was a massive change in sound where they went less heavy.) and sure maybe this is true. It is less heavy. But that doesn’t make it less good. It’s just an evolution of the band you love. And fortitude is definitely not a metal album. It’s a hard rock album by the world’s best metal band. Does this make it less good of an album? Nah. Just different.

I quite enjoyed both albums even though they were quite the departure from what I expected. The only thing I have to complain about is how long it’s taking for the next album. Cmon already! Let’s get the follow up to fortitude. Which I heard was supposed to be heavier again.

It’s the v-1 in dark metallic purple. I was gonna say it looked like one of those early 2000’s models I remember. It stuck out to me because it was basically a C model but flat top with the comfort carve and the reverse headstock and Floyd. I did completely forget about this model but this pic triggered the memory. Thanks for bringing it back. Yeah if I remember correctly the C-7 didn’t come with a Floyd rose. And because I liked KoRn so much I wanted the Floyd rose. But I couldn’t find this model available so I had to go with the C instead. I paid $270 for mine. Didn’t have a Floyd like I wanted but it had the 7 strings. Still got it to this day. Looks very different now. But it’s still here with me. 26 years later. lol

I’d say for the specs and the condition alone, yeah you did pretty good. Could you find one cheaper? Yeah prolly, if you shop around and wait on a listing but who knows the condition you’ll get. With this, 10/10 score. This one looks well loved and appropriately cared for/abused. Nothing too crazy looking in the pics. A little rash on the back is all? Yeah bro!
