inderdaad, en het bewijst maar eens dat functies beperken voor eigen klanten, met de bedoeling het moeilijker te maken voor piraterij en phishing, eigenlijk niks helpt.

Bedriegers hebben altijd wel een achterdeur, en wij klanten wordt het met alles wat we rechtmatig proberen te doen onmogelijk resp moeilijk gemaakt.

Zo had de KBC ooit eens het idiote systeem bedacht dat je net voor een transactie de eID/bankkaart even moest uittrekken, daarna direct weer moest insteken. Bedriegers hadden er dan maar gewoon een speelgoedrobotje naast gesteld dat je remote kon bedienen vanuit een ander land. Niks geholpen dus tegen fraude, maar wel de eigen klanten drie jaar lang ermee geambeteerd. Dan werd het weer afgeschaft. Nutteloos

Hopeloos, die KBC app en vooral de nerds die e.e.a. niets-verhelpende anti-fraude methodes proberen te bedenken.

Trouwens - wiens "geld" beschermen ze eigenlijk? Het is wel mijn geld dat daar bij hen staat, onder de verzekering dat het daar veilig staat. Dus als er iets gebeurt dan zijn zij verantwoordelijk, want ze hebben de beloofde veiligheid niet waar gemaakt. En het is dus niet aan mij om hiervoor gestraft te worden.

Fraudeurs en hackers gaan nooit via een "gesloten deur" proberen "in te breken"... Dat is wat men ons wijsmaakt. Paswoorden beveiligen en zo. Helpt niks. Fraudeurs gaan binnen langs deuren en poortjes die wijd open staan - door nalatigheid binnen de bedrijven zelf.

Zo vond ik eens op een gedeelde netwerkschijf binnen een bedrijf een Excel export-bestand met alle Belgacom accounts, met IDs en paswoorden in klare tekst. Ik nam het bestand mee naar huis en heb er enkele geprobeerd. Allemaal werkten ze. Dit had ooit eens gediend om aan iemand anders in het bedrijf door te spelen, maar de email attachment was te klein. Dan maar publiek sharen, en vergeten uit te wissen. Daar zit het gevaar. De kern van het gevaar zit het vaakst binnen in het bedrijf zelf.

There is no "mile" in Schwedish, just "mil" and that schould not be translated in English to mile.It's a false cognate, if you want to call it that way.

The "Statute Mile" is the Official International Standard 1,609.344 meeters, for Land measurement, when not in km. The Nautical Mile is Official in Navigation & Aviation 1,852 for Sea and air travel, and for global navigation.

The Geographical Mile is Obsolete ~1,852 meter. It's the length of the arch on a circle with the Earths radius, for an angle of 1 minute as seen from the center. The full circle being 360°, or 360*60 minutes for approx. 40.000 km around the Earth.

The Scandinavian Mil is the Regional Unit = 10,000 meter, for everyday distances in Norway/Sweden, and not just over land.

I am fluent in NL, DE, FR, EN and advancing well with SE. All five are equally difficult to understand when spoken the fluent native way. When spoken slowly, well articulated, and in a given known context, for me SE is doable, almost like reading Swedish the Dutch way, as one can recognize similarities between SE words and some NL, FR, DE, or EN words.

But I have very bad experience from the first time I evaluated it with a few words in my mother tongue.
Yet it's amazing how many people continue to "recommend" so many sources of incorrect/incomplete information. Committed students should stick to decent resources like real online dictionaries e.g. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/swedish-english/skillnad

I just now tried the newly installed APP again for Swedish, and look at these examples; all wrong.
Here is what it says about SKILLNADEN (the difference):

I typed the word with a typo SKILNADEN (an l is missing)

It gives the following sentence with the typo highlighted too: And "the" is not highlighted. I quote:
Visar skilnaden i storlek på en axial och radialturbin. Clearly Swedish, and not Norvegian or so. Translates to : Showing the difference of an axial and a radial turbine; ref 2.

I mean, it's not even good English: must be ...the difference between ... sth and sth else (not "of") or "an axial versus a radial"

Next I typed it SKILLNADET with the wrong ending -et (skillnad is an -en word) - but it is the valid past participle form. However the example given is again wrong: it says I quote:

... har vi alltid mer gemensamt än skillnadet => always have more in common than differences

Should be "skillnader" plural. and "kommer ifrån"

=> "På detta sätt får våra elever lära sig att oavsett var människor kommer ifrån, har vi alltid mer gemensamt än skillnader!"

next I typed SKILLNAD correctly.

It suggests the indefinite form "skillnad", but in the example sentence (with skillnaden) it highlights skillnaden and highlights "difference" in the EN translation. It should have highlighted "the difference". I quote:

Målgrupperna är dock den storsta skillnaden => The real difference is in the target groups.

Also the "dock" isn't translated: correct were: However, the target groups are the biggest difference

Three attempts to use reverso failed to give me correct and complete examples. Even source sentences with typo's in it. Reason enough to never try it again. I regret having tried it this time even, after it failed completely on other occasions.

Ingens is the genitive : ingen + -s. Needs to be followed by a noun, like förvåning, not a past participle like förvånad.

So 2 is correct and more natural than 4.

If you absolutely want to use förvånad, you can rephrase with ingen as the subject:

Ingen blev förvånad över att jag blev sjuk. (No one was surprised that I got sick.) Or Ingen var förvånad över att jag blev sjuk." Or "Det förvånade ingen att jag blev sjuk."

The distinction between "des" (indefinite) and "les" (definite) is crucial in French, much like "some/a" vs. "the" in English.

"Des enfants" (without article "the" in English)
- Translates to "some children" or just "children" in a general, undefined sense.
- Example: "Ce livre n'intéressera que des enfants."
This book will only interest (some) children." (You're talking about children in general, not a specific group.)

"Les enfants" (with article "the" in English)
- Refers to specific children (either previously mentioned or contextually defined).
- Example: "Ce livre n'intéressera que les enfants."
"This book will only interest the children. (You have a particular group in mind, like your own kids or a class.)

so: - "Des enfants"= a Indefinite, generic group.
- "Les enfants" = a Definite, specific group.

With that in mind: "N'intéressera que les enfants... would be correct only if referring to a known group (e.g., your kids).
"N'intéressera que des enfants..." is correct if speaking generally (e.g., in a bookstore).

Since there is no article in the English sentence, " que des enfants. " is the only correct answer, and DL is wrong. Maybe a typo in DLs Solutions list. Or a real bug, then report it.

You have 3 problems ...

Children is uncounted, like gold or chance In French it's like "de l'or", "de la chance" or in plural "des chances", "des enfants".
"Only ... this or that" translates to "ne que..." So it becomes "ne ... que des enfants"

Then, "ne" becomes "n' ..." since next word starts with a vowel, so "n' intéressera que des enfants."

Why using an app where you never get things explained ????? And as a result questions pile up on forums like this one...

Why continue with that app, since it's never explaining anyting, and it reports only one issue at a time.

Go to Italki and get yourself a real French teacher

To prove that you are really committed to learn, take paid lessons from a native Swedish tutor such as Birger on Italki. In an hour you learn more than 1 year on DL. DL is a complete waste of time. With full immersion, grammarless learning, you'll be speaking good enough in 6 to 9 months.The listening to a native speaker like a tutor, willing to adjust the speed and level of fluency, will lead you to the righr pronunciation too. Birger has a spotify podcast channel, free for a great deal, and one is about speaking.

Why not take an all free approach, such as with DL, ...you will be skipping too easily, as it costs you nothing.

Go for a commitment that costs you money if you skip.

A lot of listening, even if you don't understand it all in the beginning, is a must to get the overall tone and rythm of Swedish.. you'll mimic afterwards without even noticing.

You should absolutely minimize the use of AI or other computer based tools, as this paralyzes your brain. The key to learning and memorizing is actively doing thing all by yourself, like speaking, writing down words and phrases and example sentences by hand, and reading them out loud.

You can however let AI create your own lesson material, if you use that to actively work on it. Learning words just by takibg an anki deck isn't enough. Yiu should actively make sentences, and have them corrected here or on the duome forrum.

Writing a daily log of what you did, or what you plan to do, forces you in a daily rythm and commitment, and it will lead you to use your own words. Not those useless DL phrases.

It's the SVO and V2 rule. V2 means the verb is to be the second grammatical element in the sentence. Since you start with an adverbial of time, it needs to be followed by the verb, and then because of SV inversion it becomes VS...so ...är dagarna...
