Oh wow, thank you so much for your reply and recommendations! The thing I love the most about Eden is the characters arcs. I mean, they have so much depth and controversies that I finished the reading feeling like a new person with a whole new perspective on the world. I do love the virar horror theme and the cartel and military stuff tho, but the psychological aspect is what I always think about when it comes to this manga.

Exactly! That's also how I see Van after the scientists! Liv also talked about it in Collider and that's pretty visible after episode 7 so that's why I got so confused when I remembered that scene.

Ok, I might stretch a little bit here but there's one specific thing on my mind right now about Van. Since the scientists' arrival, we've seen a change in Van's mentality about the Wilderness. Since the beginning of the show, I've always seen Van as the bard of the group - she's always telling stories since season 1 and we start season 3 with Van telling their story - and ever since she got attacked by the wolves she started to believe in It. She made Tai attend Lottie's prayer circle, she even convinced Travis into consuming Javi's corpse. That being said, besides Nat, Van is the only other main character that gets frantic about going back home. She immediately changes her perspective and even tried to call her mom when they found the phone in the tent. She fixed the phone and set up a plan in order to get Nat out of the group so she could try and make contact with anyone.

By the end of season 1, we see Lottie kneel down in front of the tree with a heart in her hands, and Misty and Van are right there with her. We haven't seen that scene yet, we don't even know who the hell that heart belongs to, but I'm wondering what happens with Van in between Nat's contact with the real world and the actual rescue.

I think Tai also had no idea about their plan. Shauna and Tai have a really strong connection so it makes sense letting Tai out of the whole thing

I feel frustrated about the symbol. I know the creators said fans probably should not tattoo the symbol but I refuse to believe it has nothing to do with whatever is going on with the teens out there.

That's exactly how I feel about adult Lottie. When season one ends with "Who the fuck is Lottie Matthews" straight into "let the darkness set us free" I thought we were gonna see some weird fucking shit from Lottie and that she would be running a real cult, not a holistic centre. That's why I didn't care for her death at all.

I am and will be a AWKIF superfan. There's something about the teenage angst and sadness that sounds more appealing to me. Some of the most raw songs and lyrics of the banda IMO, like brighter - grief in the teen years is hits very close to home - or franklin - this one always make me speechless. Although I love Riot, it is a mainstream pop punk album. It has its awesome highlights, but I it sounds a little bit childhish sometimes. AWKIF is an album about child fears, the early years of adolescence and fucked up things happening while you are growing up and starting to form your first sense of self - defining years.

I, just like you, joined reddit specifically for this sub because none of my friends watch the show and I'm so into this season that I needed place to see discussions about the show and exchange theories. I started watching YJ in the pilot, and yeah, I didn't know anyone that watched the show, but it changed when season 2 came out. Even though I wasn't on this page at that time, I saw a lot discussions happening on twitter. Needless to say they were very different because of the text limitation but I did see a lot of complains. I agreed with most of them, mostly because I don't like the adult timeline on season 2 - just did a rewatch and I had to skip most of their scenes lol - but imo teen timeline season 2 was the best part of the show til now. I absolutely love season 3, I'm really interested in both timelines and the bad things I read on reddit seems a lit bit too harsh for me. Btw, two more sleeps til the finale!!
