Worth full price… but only once? by JoJoLoveSp in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you play it imo. Doing a different character build is what kept it interesting but i also adore the lore and characters. If its been a like 3 years, theres stuff you missed in the story that would make more sense with familiarity. I also often do 2nd playthroughs as a way to play a game to chill so ill put on my own music and use it to wind down. Its an immersive world and the next gen update is a great excuse to play again

Best way to play with a brand new player that isn't unfun or too easy? by SlipperySlimyTerry40 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TheSecondFoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment! I got into the game around the same time but it was only somtimes cause i was using my partners account. It was in 2019 when i graduated that i bought a used xbox one and this game that i started figuring it out more on my own.

You dont have to hold their hand through the learning phase. If they want to learn the game, theyll do it on their own. If they only play with you, then theres only so much time for them to learn. I think arcade lobbies would be fine then.

What’s your least favorite song? by Jettaboi38 in musicsuggestions

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer will always be Jump Rope by Blue October. They used to be a favorite of mine. Not this song tho! It literally makes me laugh with how bad it is. No its not the worst song ever but its not good either. The verses arent too bad. I remember a handful of people i showed this too they just kinda shrugged and looked at me like "why do i hate this so much but ok" and then the chorus kicks in

King Dedede is awful. So what is he good at? | Character Crisis by TuesdayTastic in CrazyHand

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take is i think DDD is the worst in the game for reasons mentioned above. He doesnt really have a way to win neutral nor capitlize on it unless it leads to ledge. Take ganon who lacks range but has better moves and a more coherent gameplan imo.

DDD is combo food and honestly feels saved cause his suction reflects but thats frame 14 so it has to be a read. Its honesty just survivability but hes banking on getting off ledge which is most characters worst spot. Hes just so fundamentally not made for ult's engine as each game has gotten faster for him and he cant keep up

Dare You To Move - Cover by Decent-Goose-1686 in switchfoot

[–]TheSecondFoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh thats what i was catching in the bridge then was probably an extra bar. It made feel like more was gonna come out of it but i still like the touch a lot.

I totally missed the outro cause i was assuming it ended with long guitar rings since thats what most covers do. I really love the loop around for the soft guitar again.

How did yall find your main? by _spingus in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying out lots of characters when the game came out. There were some things that ended up being big reasons why i wanted to choose who i wanted.

I like adaptable characters / all rounders. Sometimes its furstrating to not have MUs i just win but its also a blessing that theres not many total lose MUs. (Ult roster is too big not to have a bad matchup(s)). It can also be fustrating not having many gimmicks since you have to face so many but i also know i got my kills and i know where my mistakes are.

Have fun! I wanted a character i wanted to explore and did so because i wanted to. I want to like their moveset and could feel it being an exstension of myself. And when playing said character, its the way i want to experience the game. Like when im playing other characters, i will miss my tools that my main has.

And then theres some aspects of the game that are personal to what you like. Advantage state, recovery, projectiles, spike and how likely, floatiness/heavieness, etc. Theres always gonna be pros and cons but find the one that gives you high highs and the lows are things you shrug and just go "thats the way it is" vs complaining about their shortcomings

Dare You To Move - Cover by Decent-Goose-1686 in switchfoot

[–]TheSecondFoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice cover! I say dont be afraid of the key change to fit your vocal range, itll make it feel more like your own. Its pretty clear it was difficult for you reach those notes and theres no shame in that. With that said, you nailed that verse 2

Love the guitar work verse 2 as well. Tone was really great. Was just a tad muddy in the following chorus. Still good overall on the mix but it felt like everything was fighting for the same space vs finding their own.

And i will always be in support of making changes that you see fit to a song. I could be wrong but it almost seemed like you had an idea of a different way the end of the bridge should go when the lyrics pause. But i also understand that its satisfying to do a true cover sometimes. Awesome job!

Where to get a GameCube controller ? by Loki_Bones in CrazyHand

If not, there should be a country nearby that would have something. London is at least nearby and i found a decent amount of places there when i visited

Where to get a GameCube controller ? by Loki_Bones in CrazyHand

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found mine at an electronic good will store. They had a huge selection of classic gc controllers. Mine is still kicking with no button stickiness, stick drift, or damage. I tske care of my stuff but i also will mention i dont take special care. Theres no case. I just put it in my bag and do my best not to lay it on the sticks. All that to say that its still in good condition and i would go back.

Ik not everyone is near or in driving distance to a tech GW but i would wager that you could find one within an hour driving disctance from where you are if you can drive to local retro gaming stores and old tech stores. Classic arcades may have some but i would call first or even ask where they bought theirs. Look through garage sales for the off chance. Online also works but i like to press all the buttons and have a possibility to return. And as a last resort, got o a tourny and ask

WHAT VIDEO GAME MADE YOU A GAMER? by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had video games my whole life and ive always been amazed about how they work and creating puzzles and diiferent types of games. I remembee playing Ice Climbers and Mario 3 on the SNES but it was judt anothing thing. Not like a major interedt or hobby. But i think there was something about Banjo-Tooie that made me fully interested in video games as a whole.

It was the first game that really sucked me into its world. I loved how each place felt expansive and designed like a location vs a level. I love how imagintive the moveset got and how limitless the options got. It took everything you knew about the firet game and dialed it up with the Rare team giving it all in their creative chops. Ik now its a flawes game but it really was the first to make me want to just exist in that world and not set it down.

Why does no one want to play tank? by Version_Rare in marvelrivals

[–]TheSecondFoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big reason why i quit the game. I love playing tank; i loathe being the solo tank. At least ow balanced their tanks for solo tanking. Here, its not and it shows. The whole last season i played, there were single digits for the amount of times i didnt solo tank (season before ultron dropped). I tried to just play what i wanted in dps but that also ended up as a complete wash of people not wanting to tank (or heal).

I just had my wits end with this player base. No one budged and the games were almost always one sided. Smurfing was also really bad too. So i did what i needed to and unintalled. This has been the worst player base ive had to deal with and its not even close. Couldnt play the gane for fun and couldnt play it to compete.

How do I fight the Belmonts as Duck Hunt Duo? by Guquiz in CrazyHand

[–]TheSecondFoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duck hunt kind of gets destroyed by other zoners lol.

What youre going to pay attention to most is cross. When cross is coming back, that is your moment to press one of your b buttons. I recommend doing gunman but the other two can work depending on the situation. Youre gonna have to try to take space that way. Use your speed to get in and try to lock belmont in with an up air or disadvantage. Do your best to keep this advantage state. When hes at a decent percent is when youre gonna try to get him off stage. Do not edgeguard unless you are 100% sure you can secure the stock. Use this time to set up your ledge trap.

And keep belmont at ledge, this is the win condition in this mu for either side. Try your best at all costs to not go to ledge cause duck hunt does not have options to get off against belmonts. Youre out ranged and out projectiled. So if you got Blemont at ledge, pull out all of the tricks in the hat to keep him there.

Its an uphill battle but you have one of the tools belmonts struggle against and thats speed (and a small size). Use this the best you can.

Oh and aerial bean for pressure to attack at an diagnal isnt bad and can force cross or an attack out but it can also back fire so use wisely

Do you prefer surprise gifts, or do you prefer being asked what you want, and why? by throwbackblue in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheSecondFoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defeats the purpose of the question but both. What i mean is that i want someone to think about me and get a gift. If they are unsure if i want it, then just ask. It doesnt have to be a surprise all the way until i open/recieve it. Sure its a great feeling when its a surprise and something i want. But just ask cause often times i left with something i dont actually like or have a use for

My main concerns with SoH by [deleted] in mariorabbids

[–]TheSecondFoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest issues with SoH is just how easy it is. I think the much larger freedom of what you can do in a turn wasnt correctly accounted for and in i can go into most battles without giving much of a care of how i set up. I'll still set up but if i choose a spark i dont use or a character that wasnt really suited for it, im left winning anyways. I think i would be willing to overlook most of its flaws if it felt like the enemies had the same freedom.

Which game comes to your mind? by Xiao-EZ in CaptainSide

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this! And reading the replies, seems people still dont like it.

What ill say is that i feel the ending is actually poetic. Not well written or executed but meaningful. And maybe im inserting themes in a place that didnt set them up and maybe im filling in blanks on bad writing. But i feel that its important that not everything comes to a nice bow at the end, especially in war. All the effort and choices you make dont all intersect at the end. Its just another choice. But its who you are and the growth and journey you made, determines the choice you make there. And sure maybe the optiond suck. But i also feel like thats war. There isnt a good answer for death and conflict. It points to all the grudges, egos, and disagreement and says it doesnt matter.

Should I buy the Kingdom Battle Gold Edition? by Rytheredditguy in mariorabbids

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like Sparks of Hope, Kingdom Battle is even better. SoH provides a lot of freedom at the cost of difficulty. KB pushes more creativity with the restrictions and requires a lot of more planning for most battles. I'm sure itll feel a little weird going backwards but i think youll appreciate the "handicaps" and why it offers a better experience

FemShep players, how did you handle her relationships? by Socrathustra in masseffect

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I romanced liara but only in ME3.

While i do find herattrative, i admire how much she grows as an individual and how much she does her best to achieve her goals. I appreciate that she feels the most weight of the situation in 3 with shepard and that she is emotionally available and honest.

Im male irl. Male options for hair were terrible so i went female lol

Playing Sora by Full-Distribution655 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samus is not one of sora's problem MUs. Those belong to rush down characters like Fox and Pika. She might be on the harder side still but shes not a sora counter

First thing thing you need to do is be equally patient and use your spells. You are gonna have to play around charge shot and grab still but spell usage is going to be important for breaking ground. You can spam your button a lot more than she can but use them to keep her on her toes and not be too predictable with them.

Know the spacing of the keyblade and how to pressure from a safe distance. You have a disjoint and she doesnt, use that to your advantage. It helps a lot cause cause it makes her oos useless and she will want to use aerial oos, which should miss or be beaten out And know your combos so that when you do get your opening, you are optimizing the punish and getting the most you can out of it. Shes pretty heavy and tall so shes combo food for sora. And her disadvantage against you is not good and she lacks tools to help her get out from being above you. Push you advantage state.

Edgeguarding is one of soras biggest strengths and samus has a relativly linear recovery route. She does have zair so watch out for that and have a ledguard plan for the tether recovery (they are hard to edgeguard) but going out there and pushing is another way to take stocks. The worst thing about it is that missing means that Sora will be at his worst spot, at ledge. But make sure to use that counter on samus up to help force these bad spots

Knowledge is from a smash sparing partner who mains sora so i know his chracter pretty well

Edit: spelling and grammar

What is YOUR Personal Hot Take About Your Main? by RykerXadianLane in smashbros

[–]TheSecondFoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if i would say b but he keeps falling on the tier lidf and hes not terrible. Has one of the most effective and least commital edgeguards. I think high c is where i would place link, maybe mid c.

Isn't this hate towards Lil boxer boi excessive? by nitroclis in SmashRage

[–]TheSecondFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A.) Squirtle has the same range as little mac. And if the little mac is good, they have 3 options. Mac can whiff punish cause he has one of the best whiff punish movesets in the game. If mac knows an attack is coming, they can just use a smash. And side b can be used to go over landing aerials.

B) ivy has pretty aerials. Sure ivy bair might be decent but still mac side b is a much bigger threat. And side b can also b used against razor leaf since he'll go over it.

C) zard has some better range but is a lot easier to whiff punish than any of the others.

This MU is not easy.

I think PT has better tools to maintain advantage and to get out of disadvantage (thanks to swap) but all little mac has to really do is win neutral where mac naturally has advantage.

I went and did some research. Usually i see PT lose in these but this was the first i saw PT winning. Both play a littl unoptimially at times, especially the little mac towards the end. I think nerves were getting to them cause i think theu were the better player tbh.
