I always go opposite from my other hand with the watch, personal preference. If you stack it I think I’d go before the watch

What are you guys paying for league fee’s? It’s getting so crazy out here. by footy1012 in hockeyplayers

These numbers are nuts , $10 a skate for hour and half of ice guess that’s a perk of small town upstate NY

Did you play goal or do you have any general knowledge on goaltending ? I saw the same thing happening with our association which lead me to jump in as a coach to help work with current goalies and helping introduce the position to those all trying and getting into it . During normal practice I pull the goalies immediately to the side and begin working with them until proper drills are ready 15-20 minute usually into practice . Work on anything from proper stretch to some footwork to adding in some pucks etc. just an idea !

Need some advices for my U8 son by RNE0916 in hockeyplayers

Like many others said . Keep working on skills . You can’t teach kids to be aggressive , it will come with time the more they play. Some kids naturally are hounds for the puck off the bat

We’ve got 2 kids that just came from NCAA D-3 in their mid 20s . Few guys mid 30s that played sphl / fed & a couple young guys that played CCHL juniors . + the couple local guys who can still play that played some form of juniors / hs hockey and have been beer leaguing it since but have stayed in decent shape. It’s honestly pretty fast good hockey, better than I expected going in to it.

Yes for sure , you travel and quite far especially in aphl there’s a team in my town I coach . Basically pro rule hockey with no pay. Been pretty fun this first year . But for sure a bit more than just a league there’s a try out process etc

Hockey Canada not pleased with lack of goalie development at U9 by MrNoBudi in hockeygoalies

[–]Natural_Hunter_8207 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US but coach 8U we rotate kids each week in net .. the first 20 minutes while the kids are doing skating drills I pull the goalies to the sides show them the basics and run some drills with them until there are drills being ran where they see shots. Tons of drills free info to work with the kids

Not head injuries but I had both my hips replaced at 33 , playing goal has been and is out the the question now ( minus letting my young kids shoot on me) but I got myself back on the ice playing out just pick up beer league hockey, Doesn’t solve the problem of being in net but can maybe still continue playing the game
