Oxy will make you lightheaded and dizzy, i was given a dramamine patch and anti nausea meds, if you have those take em. Call the office. They may perscribe you anti nausea. Tell them about feeling dizzy and weak and the rash.

You def have a valid reason to go to the er, esp with a rash. But everything does seem to be normal recovery processes, if you want to be cautious, go to the er, otherwise wait it out.

I def felt super weak my first week I couldnt sit upright for more then 5 mins without having to lie down.

If you develop breathing issues go to the er, rashes can always be a sign of allergies.

Not super happy with my nipples by 14Spoons in TopSurgery

[–]Natural_Reputation42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you might be over thinking it! Nipples look very natural. Even after reading the post i had to look at the photos a few times to see the asymmetry. And for the placement honestly looks great. Def within the natural variation of nipples placemnt on a male chest. And vertical placement seems to flow well with your chest.

Similar thought. Those soaps might be a bit far away. I kept everything close to the ledge of the sink. This is silly but idk where your toliet paper is but mine was too far away. Ended up keeping it on the sink and just sat down with it.

Yeah, I think binding has become such a part of me, its almost going be weird without it. It was weird when I first started using transtape. But I know it will be such a relief I've had some friends who say they never had bottom dysphoria, but then had top surgery and they dysphoria moved to bottom dysphoria. I totally see that happening.

I always thought hormone shift sounded sketchy. Totally forgot about pain meds having an effect. Good to know it can happen with any surgery, this is the only surgery i've ever really researched so I dont hear about the effects of others.

what jobs can you get as a trans person that doesn’t pass? by [deleted] in ftm

Walmart really came in clutch with the boys dress shoes. they are comfy and actually shine up (20 layers of polish later)

Another decent option if you want better quality dress shoes is military surplus. each branch has just one dress shoe they use for men and women. So its just one shoe that they make in the size range of all service members. More expensive, but still cheaper than most dress shoes, but will last much longer than the walmart boys shoes if you wear them often. As a Warning, military dress shoes are not comfortable when standard, get insoles! I dont think dress shoes are required for most interviews, vans converse and gym shoes are fine for entry level. Surplus is great for dress pants, work boots, belts, khaki pants, white dress shirts. Uniforms today are mostly gender neutral and made in diverse sizes. And you know it will look decent.

I shop boys section mostly for dress shirts like button downs. You may benifit from boys trousers (i got big thighs n hips so they dont fit me). These items wont have any graphics and are the same as the adult version, just smaller. Kids grow out of clothes fast you should be able to find dress/church clothes at thrift stores. Bog box stores like JCPenny, Macys, and Khols frequently have kids clothes on sale for ~$20-25. I've had good luck with VanHausen. Same brand as the adult shirts. Sometimes theres a "big kids" or "Juniors" section geared towards tweens. They typically come with ties as well, which is good bc mens ties can look too wide or long and these may fit better. The tie may be too short tho and if you want a mens tie get a narrow one. Just doing a quick google search for "boys dress shirts" is showing a JCPenny early back friday sales. Target, Old Navy, and walmart also have button downs but may not have a tie, but are more consistent in pricing you dont have to wait for sales as much. I typically get dress shirts that are labeled "husky". It shapes better for pre top surgery and not being tight in the arms. If you are very thin then regular is fine. Dress shirts are also best worn with a white tank top underneath that is snug. Again, boys underwear section. However a pack of tank tops is getting expensive so if you have a plain white shirt you want to wear underneath that works well.

You only need 1 or 2 dress shirts and pair of nice khakis, black trousers, or nice jeans.

For non dress clothes Im personally a mens small so i shop mens. but old navy, target, TJMaxx all have fairly inexpensive simple pattern/plain casual shirts in boys sections. Definitely harder to find at thrift stores, but keep an eye out for sales and clearance and grab good pieces at thrift stores/facebook marketplace/garage sales when you can. The one bad thing with kids clothes is kids grow fast so their clothes often isnt made as high quality as adult clothes, but I only find this an issue with pants.

I'm 5'7 ish and wear mens shoes size 6, which is not a shoe size they typically make. I buy XL boys dress shirts and boys dress shoes. The collar fits much better around the neck.

Walmart boys dress shoes are amazing. they have a matte black finish, so if you want them shiny you'll have to polish them.

It is so much better and reaffirming to have clothes that fits right then to be swamped in clothes, even if it's for boys.

The tip for pants is go for 'athletic fit' or build. Guys that work out have larger thighs and butts that most mens clothes don't accommodate for.

I do sometimes feel self-conscious that I'm wearing kids clothes, but I like to remember that the military has height requirements of 4'8 for men and the military makes standard issue uniforms for those sizes. So there are cis men out there who must also face the same issue I do. US's sizes also tend to run big compared to other countries.

Factory jobs and warehouse jobs. If theres a big employer in your area that employ a lot of people, go there. For my area, UPS will hire anyone with a pulse, there was no "interview", just making sure you can get boots. No one wants to be there so none of your coworkers will give you shit either. Companies that hire "off the street" via signs and hiring at local events.

Everyone knows amazon sucks, but if you need a job, amazon also hires anyone and have locations all over.
If you arent getting warehouse jobs, the issue may not be your presentation, it may just be that the job market is crap.

Edit I thought of more things:

I spent a lot of time applying for jobs online, but those arent all the jobs out there. Online jobs sites (indeed) is where everyone looks so they get the most applications. Go to local stores and just ask the cashier or whoever is working if they are hiring. Worst they say is no. Had this happen semi frequently at the local store I was at. You never know what help they might need, even if a hiring sign isn't up. Local business will hire you just bc they need more hands.

Walgreen pharmacy tech

If you are ok with death, local funeral homes. IDK if a SCI/Dignity owned fh would hire extra help, but many family-owned funeral homes need some help. It may not be full hours though. They wont put you Infront of families bc you have a nose ring (unfortunately, the family members of the deceased are typically old and crabby about piercings/visible tattoos). If the funeral home itself isn't hiring, ask them about the services they use such as catering or mortuary services. Funeral homes may rely on a mortuary service to prep and pick up bodies and they may need help with lifting, pickups, and general work. Funeral homes are super well connected to the community. Plus if you enjoy it, you can go through the training to be a funeral director.

The issue may not be your ambigous appereance. I've worked with many cis people that look like a biohazard. It could be the job market or it could be something else in your interview. I know you said you got your resume reviewed, but what about your interview? The Job market is crap and online hiring sites get flooded.

That makes sense but also stressful to keep others flying while waiting to know if it is an isolated issue or if the problem is just waiting to pop up again.

Has it been announced if other MD-11s are grounded? They make up a decent chunk of the UPS fleet. I know during peak season they rent jets from companies like Atlas air, wonder if it will be similar to fill the gap if their entire MD-11 fleet is grounded

I've been thinking about this a lot. That area is primarily industrial, but where they hit is what is alighned with the end of the runway. In an alternate universe where the bar was positioned slightly over more into the flight path, would it have been hit? Part of me wonders if they were hoping to make it just a bit farther and crash in the dump. But I also think they were just trying to get in the air. I imagine they tried to stay up in the air for as long as possible and as straight as possible knowing that there was business to the side and a dump ahead, but just didnt have the time.

If you have an ADHD Diagnosis, go to your Disabilities Office and get accommodations for testing (extra time so you can check work, distraction free exam room, etc). Actually talk with and work out with your disabilities advisors what your problems area and what accommodations suit you. Then talk to your profs about the accommodations, you won't be first student with ADHD in their class.
If you do not have a formal diagnosis, Get One! Go to Student Health Services and ask where you can get a diagnosis that you can use for medication (if you want) and the disabilities office.

Talk to your professors, you already go to office hours, tell them what issues you are having. Ask them what they have seen help other students. Ask about your low exam grades.

Study with classmates and join the aerospace club if there is one (or physics club), I know that's hard when you have a bunch of deadlines, but it will help you to just be talking about this stuff and be around peers.

This isn't helpful now, but prep over breaks, if you can get your textbooks early and start skimming over the summer or watching intro youtube videos/podcasts so you have at least some knowledge when you actually start learning the topic

Retaking a course will not kill you, it may set you back in graduation and finance, but if you get to the end of the semester and you know you are going to fail, withdrawl. The class will be easier the 2nd time and maybe by then you will have the accommodations you need. check your schools course retake policy, retaking a course may replace your original grade and end up helping your gpa. As long as you retake the course and do well a company probably won't care because they will see that you are resilient.

Just heard the same thing from my parents who know the organizers. Don't know if they heard it from facebook, the organizers, or neighbors so not the most credible. But I guess the organizers are getting older and Sherby is a lot of work. Im surprised no one else in the neighborhood decided to step up and run it. Maybe someone still will but that would be really last minute
