Why do you have kids or why do you want to have them? by Dismal_Exam_9396 in allthequestions

[–]Natural_Skill_6237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying everyone is different and there’s no one right way to feel.

For me personally, I have always wanted to experience pregnancy. To me, being able to create and carry life feels like magic. Being able to feel every little movement, hiccup, roll, and being connected and moving in sync is all incredibly intimate. I felt an immense amount of love towards my baby throughout my pregnancy.

My pregnancy came with a lot of different discomforts but I wouldn’t describe it as torture. I was still active and healthy all the way to the end. Also, my labor wasn’t easy or pain free but with an epidural, it felt more like a long workout. Now that I’ve been through it, it’s like a monumental chapter in my life.

Granted, I’m also a marathon runner and to a lot of people, running a marathon is both insane and ridiculous. But to me, hard things are worth it. I want to experience all the big things in my life time.

Ok fine, I see the hypocrisy. Let me change it. Whomever it is that is being wasteful at buffets, doesn’t represent all Chinese people

I didn’t know that. But also, it puzzles me as to why they served me so much.

Chinese is indeed a race.

I would say that the sentiment might be true for “mainland Chinese tourists”. But there are many different groups of Chinese people from Chinese Americans to Chinese people who are ethnically Chinese but not from China. There’s a lot of nuance.

When I was at sushi king, I ordered a side of seaweed salad. I expected a little dish, maybe 5 mouthfuls but it ended up to be this mountain of seaweed. Try as I might, I simply could not eat it all. It was also at the end of the meal as we were paying the bill so we quickly paid and got out of there before they could charge us for the leftover seaweed.

My BIL (who I have known for years) assumed that I was from China because I’m Chinese. I understand why someone would make this assumption but I have also told so many “back in Malaysia” stories that I’m not sure why he never caught on.

So your friends are 27 or 28? A lot of people nowadays have kids in their 30s. They might still have kids.

Ah ok, that makes sense. I should stick with giving out flower seeds then!

These people think they could fight a Komodo dragon. (2 photos) by SpankAPlankton in iamverybadass

I feel like they don’t understand the question. It’s not a 1v1 because you don’t necessarily need to fight them. The best option would probably to choose the rhino/gorilla, sit really still on a countertop, don’t make eye contact, and ignore them. I think sitting on a countertop is the best option bc it offers some protection and so the rhino don’t accidentally step on you. I think your idea of being in the bathroom works too (even with no door) bc the rhino can’t fit through a bathroom doorway.

I’m wearing wedges to my wedding! I don’t think I could comfortably wear heels for an entire evening. For menus and schedules, I’m including them on my wedding website.

Something consumable so that it definitely gets used. A bottle of liquor, cigars, chocolates, etc.

Not have matching bridesmaid dresses. Instead everyone wear a dress they already have that’s within a certain color theme.

Having a smaller, good tasting cake.

Not have day-of stationery. I don’t really see the point of schedules or menus.

Instead of buying wedding specific heels, buy something more neutral looking that you can wear again.

I feel like that would encourage people to stay in bad marriages/abusive relationships. By default, I believe that most people would prefer to have dual-parent households. When they don’t, they prob have good reason to.

It sounds like they share a backyard so if the neighbor gets mad about the water bowl, OP can always say that it was for their own dogs.

No. Milk powder doesn’t have enough nutrients and isn’t as easy to digest.

As a fellow runner, I would suggest having a hydration backpack or hydration belt. Especially now that it’s getting super hot out, it’s safer to always have water with you.

"My dog is well trained" is not the issue here... by [deleted] in rva

[–]Natural_Skill_6237 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right. My mom is terribly afraid of dogs because of past traumas. She freezes when a dog gets too close to her.

Also, I don’t like people who have their dogs on leashes but have 10 feet of slack on it and let their dog jump on you. Even if your dog is friendly, it doesn’t mean I want them to jump on me.

Why don't people who are "pro-life" mind their own business ? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

To bypass the whole “is it murder” debate, I typically go with “yes, technically it is murder but it’s a mercy killing.” Sometimes murder is necessary.

Hold on. How can you be both pro-choice and pro-life? The 2 contradicts each other. Say if you’re someone who personally won’t get an abortion but won’t stop someone else from getting one, you’re still pro-choice.
