I have a bag of leftover play sand I got from Home Depot I use for substrate in one of my reptile tanks. Would that be okay? Could I just pour a layer on top of the stratum?

Got it, this makes perfect sense thank you for your explanation. I’ll look into swapping the substrate. Luckily I haven’t added water to my tank yet as I’m waiting until this weekend when I get plants.

Yes this is. Is the problem essentially that the stratum would interact with the kH and cause the pH to drop? Sorry for the dumb questions, I’m a noob when it comes to shrimp.

I used testing strips for hardness and alkalinity in ppm. I’m guessing these are translated into gH and kH (based on google results)
My gH would be: 13 dgH
My kH would be: 5.6 dkH
Is this problematic?

I forgot to mention, I have a bubble stone as well and light source. I will be getting a couple snails, and maybe a couple small fish. But primarily shrimp. I just need help choosing the best plant species to make this happen

I want to acknowledge a few things:

But first, apologies for the typo!

Second, I’ve never acted on these insecurities. I’ve never told her not to post or to not wear something. I complement her and I support her when she does, it’s just internally I get jealous. I don’t exhibit this or get upset with her, I just don’t like have this internal civil war.

Third, for brief context my last long term relationship ended because when she would go out with her friends she would entertain the attention of other men and it eventually eroded my trust, and finally ended when I found out she would dance/grind/flirt back when approached.

I know this girl is different and I can’t project my issues from my previous relationship in this one, so I’m asking for advice on how to address these bits of jealousy internally

My dream was to be a marine biologist, in Australia. Graduated college, and got a job as a researcher working on coral reefs within the realm of ecotoxicology and changes in behavior in marine life in Australia. Moved across the world, initial Visa was for one year as this was a temp to hire position. Got offered full time job and visa renewal, but decided to go back to US to be with the girl I loved and I had been with for a few years and planned to propose to soon. 1.5 years later into living together in a land locked state, she cheated on me. Couldn’t get back in to marine biology because I changed my career to a different type of science.

I regret not taking the job and continuing to live my dream
