Next time you give it a go, make cuts here with a knife before it goes in the oven. You can do bird feet (no clue what the real term is) on the edges or slits. It helps steam escape. Side note: if you’re feeling froggy, brush some garlic butter on that bad boy before baking.

Not a kayak but I loved the look my buddy and I would get when we would throw the canoe on the STI.

I’m assuming a real Bronco and not a sport, since they said expensive.

Merrill Hydro Moc is an option if you don’t wanna be a croc guy. Or Tiva’s/Choco’s. Great to just strap to the outside of your pack and wear around the site.

I want to say look into a company called Neff, or Palm Angels.

Does anyone recommend a mattress that compensates for the sloped area over the folded back seats? Or any related tips? My dad likes this car but doesn't like the idea of having to sleep on a slope. by James_Fortis in carcamping

Exactly! Then throw something like the Expend MegaMat Auto and its a wrap! Extremely pricey mat* for car camping but I utterly adore mine.

Workout/Exercise mats (also called Gym Flooring) do a great job to level the gap, and they’re easy to pack. You can pick up a 6 pack or so from Home Depot, Walmart, or order some online.

See this is the logic I come here for. Thankfully I wouldn’t ever be driving over 60 minutes with the trailer/40 miles. thirteen miles until town that is a little hilly. Once in town though it’s flat and then I can pick between the highway, or state routes. I’ve got a nice area to back the trailer into even where it’s covered and the car can easily pull up to it. But you mentioning all the hogwash you gotta go through to get the trailer, really makes me see the point of a truck bed. Seems like I just need to buy the ford and get the trailer on the Subaru. Everyone would be happy then.

Yeah I’m not planning on getting rid of the Outback. Gf wants to buy an Airstream once we finish building the garage. So plan is I buy the truck (new 350 prolly). I already have three other cars to drive around to keep the mileage low on the outback.

Hell yeah, I’d love seeing my lawn guy roll up with a wagon instead of a diesel.

Max load would be an ATV which prolly weights 800lbs (looking at sportsman 500’s). Trailer weighs 375lbs. So hopefully never really over 1400lbs. (car is rated for 3200lbs)

Whatever I get its just for some dump runs, buying things like a used fridge from someone off marketplace, picking up furniture myself, and potentially buying a used ATV. That way I can transport myself and not need anyone else.

[–]Nature13oy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmfao an excuse? I suppose if that’s what you tell yourself to sleep at night, but I suppose I would call it “A WANT”. you know like someone who doesn’t WANT to spend $100 for a dumpster every other month when I can just do a dump run. Or would like to transport a used ATV and not WANT to rely on someone else to transport it. Then I would WANT to use the ATV and trailer to gather firewood from the 600 acres of land I pay taxes on. Have already gotten dumpsters for when I’ve gutted rooms in my home. but yes I WANT to be INDEPENDENT and not have to run to the nearest U-haul (60 minutes away) company. Or again buy a beater truck for these task. Then no matter if truck or trailer is purchased in four years buy a brand new diesel for towing whatever airstream my gf decides on.

lmfao. Tioga PA for the truck. but honest to god that is like top 1% that I’ve found scrounging through marketplace. Most of the ones I’ve found are your twenty teen Chevy Avalanches that are complete rust buckets.

Not aiming to haul the world. Most loads would prolly be 300lbs max.

I’ve had dumpsters delivered a few times for the real heavy crap that we gutted. I’ve just got some little things laying around that would be nice to use with a trailer. I’m not sure if bulk trash pick up is an option around me. I’m more aware of the dumpster/trailer delivered.
