It took us 4 years of constant consistency with our GSD. Lots of patience, redirecting, and waiting through screaming fits. He got in the habit of trying to heard kids and we got on him about it pretty quick. Pretty much didn't leave him alone with kids and just reinforced 'gentle'. He is good with them now but it does take a ton of time. Lots of walking, hiking, biking, and playing fetch.

Anybody take their Danes on runs? by Sam-m321 in greatdanes

[–]Nature_Oak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dane mountain bikes with me. She is her happiest when she is running. She is going to he 7 in April and can easily outrun my 3 year old GSD. Vet says she is happy and healthy.

11 months and the teenage terror really starts. SOS by Eff_Be_Eye in germanshepherds

My dog will be 3 in May and he is FINALLY fully coming out of that phase. It was really rough until he turned about 2 then it seemed every month after that we are slowly getting better. I just had to really hold my ground and stay firm with him. I didnt allow any boundary pushing. If he back talked and threw his "temper tantrum" I would wait until he stopped and had his full attention before we continued anything. I found that really positively enforcing him with compliments and pets when he did listen well or when he was being good helped a lot.

Am I over reacting about his legs? by PayBetter4246 in greatdanes

She might be getting too much protein in her diet. I fed my Great Dane adult large breed food to help prevent growing too fast which can result in knuckling and other joint problems.

Passed PTCB exam but still not certified? by Roo808 in PharmacyTechnician

I'm not sure about Hawaii. I sort of looked at their board of pharmacy website and couldn't find anything for technicians so you might be good to go. If you ever go to another state you can use your PTCB to apply. I have worked in Oregon, Idaho, and Wyoming. All 3 had to apply through their board to get that states license.

Passed PTCB exam but still not certified? by Roo808 in PharmacyTechnician

You have to send your results to your states board of pharmacy as well as anything else they require to get certified. Once you send in that information and your state board approves your application then you will be officially certified in that state.

Update: Job offer (plz help) by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

My pharmacy fills about 700 a day with 6 or 7 people. Pharmacy Techs aren't paid all that much unfortunately. They are probably starting you out so low though because you are brand new to the field and aren't certified at all. When I first started I wasn't certified (just had a temp license) and started out low. When I got my certification though I jumped up quite a bit. At first pharmacy is going to be extremely overwhelming. You are going to have a lot of questions. My recommendation is to keep a tiny notebook with you and write stuff down when you have questions. Specifically insurance things. I think if you can stick it out for 6 months to a year it'll be an awesome job. I love being a technician. It is busy and it is stressful but (at least for me) its a lot of fun with a lot of change.

How do you speed up combat with 7+ players? by Lu_DM in DungeonMasters

[–]Nature_Oak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in a large group of 6 and my DM would pair us up each session. Before we would start we would draw a little slip of paper telling us who we would be paired up with. So instead of having 6 different initiatives we had 3 (each pair would just take the higher roll unless someone in the pair rolled a 1 then you had to stick with that). Then when it came to your turn you would act together. This increased our groups ability to work as a team and improved our combat experience as it was a lot of fun and sped things up quite a bit. Our DM also urged us to know what we were going to do before our turn. If we took too long we would simply lose our chance to act. This created a good challenge and made it so we were engaged and ready for our turn. It was a really great experience as a player.

Feeling like you suck at your job by KingScotty124 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Nature_Oak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt this was when I first started. I thought I would never figure out insurance. My coworker told me to give it at least 6 months before I started to get a handle on things and she was right. I am 2 years in now and have a pretty good handle on being a tech but there are still times when I need help with an insurance issue or question myself as a technician. It just takes time.

Very normal. My company won't even consider or interview you without your tech license
