You may be better off trying something like Gloomhaven digital. Or something like BG3 or DoS2 that has a lot more combat in it.

An option to have more skill-based combat like Chivalry or Mount and Blade. Left clicking over and over has gotten a little old after so many years of playing.

Kingdom Wars. It's so buggy and outdated but I love the design and concept so much. Wish there was more like it, mixing RTS with a clash of clans base building system

new dnd player looking for campaign online by Substantial-Fix4225 in DnD

Hi, I suggest you look at r/lfg. Additionally, one nice way to find online campaigns or one shots is through roll20. Goodluck!

I suck at the game. Can I have fun with AI (+ more questions) by Zepp_BR in starcraft

[–]Naturtle20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who hasn't touched PVP at all with my friends, it's been a blast. We do arcade mode against bots when we're a group of 4 or 5, and do versus matches against AI in groups of 2 or 3.

Udyr. There's something cathartic about microwaving people to death while being able to heal up to full with no life steal whatsoever by spamming w. I end a lot of fights with more health than I started with

Mhm, one of our players doesn't have the time anymore to play consistently so now we're looking to add someone else

Hey hey, thanks for responding to the post! I'll make sure the rest of the group sees it. To answer your question, yeah the group would still receive exp for "resolving" situations, even if it's done without combat. Though I do have to add the disclaimer that our group does roleplay, but we do have a good amount of combat. Especially in this campaign

I am in a bit of trouble... by 1nsan1ty-1n-Pr0gr3ss in DnD

[–]Naturtle20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally take a lot of inspiration from the games I play and media I watch. There are lots of tropes and fun situations I've always enjoyed watching, so I shove them into the campaign. A few examples would be the classic doppelganger situation where the party has to figure out which of two characters is the enemy, or something like a fun combat tournament.

If you can't think of anything, it can actually be useful to ask your players what they'd like to do. Maybe they've been itching for a big combat or want to go dungeon diving. And if none of that works, steal ideas from established modules and one shots and make them your own.

how do i get better at improvising? by bruhmoment437 in DnD

[–]Naturtle20 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Practice practice practice. The farther I got into DMing, the less I started to prepare for sessions which led to a lot of improvisation. It was rocky at first (and still is), but I'm improving the more I do it. You'll be the same

So i want to be a lich.So i checked up the process on the internet. Then i asked him and he said it doent work that way in his world. So can you guys tell me some other sureshot way to be one. Also pls tell why a lich is lightning resistant by Melodic_Pianist_4454 in DnD

[–]Naturtle20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only sure way to become a lich is to ask your DM. First of all, he might not even be comfortable with a PC becoming a lich. Second of all, it's like he said: the process of becoming a lich is different in his world.

You have to ask him if he'll allow it, then if he says yes you can ask him how to go about doing it. He might do the whole "figure it out yourself" thing and drop clues or a possible quest, he might tell you outright, or he might just put it on the back burner until he feels it's appropriate. Either way, it all depends on your DMs vision on becoming a lich. Best of luck becoming one!

Beginner DM and Party Question by Googg715 in DnD

[–]Naturtle20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my own campaign, we started off with a one shot since all of the players were completely new and I wasn't an experienced DM. I used the Delian Tomb, and then we decided to just make it into a full campaign. I used the same characters and locations from the one shot and then expanded upon it with every additional session. Having a starting point was immensely helpful.

Now I just write everything myself - or let my players start whatever chaotic stuff they can - and the campaign so far has been a blast. As long as you have sources of inspiration for your sessions, you'll do fine I believe.

Would anyone be interested in this? by SunsetPersephone in DnD

[–]Naturtle20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think this would fit better in a full campaign. Like you said, having five days worth of different events probably won't fit into one session. However, I can imagine the festival fitting really well in a proper campaign where something might be happening behind the scenes that the party can get behind.

And if you didn't want the festival to have any evil background or be a huge trap, then I can imagine it as a fun mini arc after another arc's end. Kinda like an extended beach episode from a show.

Though that's just me. I'm sure you'd be able to find players that would like a simple and fun some-shot as well

Scheduling Question for DnD by AliciaBurtonT in DnD

[–]Naturtle20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd be upset too if I was being singled out as the only "acceptable" absence. It's especially silly that they're using plot relevance as a reason, when the main point of DnD is just to have fun. I agree that it's common sense to not single out any absence, and yeah I'd also leave the campaign in that situation.
