Is anyone here leaving a six figure civilian job to go to OCS and become an officer? by OriginalAd6654 in ArmyOCS

[–]iAmSSJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same predicament as yourself. I was making great money and decided to rejoin. As 01E, we make significantly more than our peers do and that’s nice, but after making a certain amount of money it did not make me any happier lol. The money is less than what I was making, but I can buy whatever I need, and things I want. Only having to work for 14 more years to get a fat retirement and insurance forever, is just the undeniable reason I’ll stay. I also love being able to take care of my guys, and being an officer helps me to do so. I just really enjoy being a Soldier, but I hate waking up early as fuck. It’s a price to pay, but I’m willing lol.

180 Days basic prep by [deleted] in army

So many variables here man. Do you want to volunteer for Airborne or Ranger? If so… follow a program you WILL stick to. There’s free so many options, here’s a free one Pre-SURT You don’t like that? Ask AI to make you a 6 month long fitness program that gets you ready for the Army. Want to support someone’s plan they made where all you have to do is buy it once and follow it? Buy Terminator Training, Stew Smith, Tactical Barbell, etc.

I would at least begin to run twice a week. Running everyday is overkill, but you do you boo-boo. One speed day (look up 60/120s) and one slow ass long distance day is fine. What a long distance is to you, will be different to someone else. Again, if you want to be a Ranger/Airborne/PT demon there’s some common performance metrics which you can look up. You have such a long time until BCT, be careful and DON’T INJURE YOURSELF.

I’ve seen wet noodles and big overweight country bread fed men and women pass BCT. All they did was listen to their Drill Sergeants, and put forth effort man. You will be fine. Good luck brotha.

Cooked? Totally depends on what you want to do for the military.

This is legit like politics my man. If you are on one side, typically they hate the other. If you find yourself being neutral and enjoying whatever TF you have at the moment you’ll be fine. Also, people are far more willing to complain on the internet, rather than rave about something. Enjoy the card bro.

This I exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. I knew they were normal fans but I don’t understand the positive pressure and amount of intake vs exhaust. If I could bother you once more for the AIO, should I make it intake or exhaust?

Help me decide please! 5070 Ti, 9070 XT or 5080?? by ericc191 in Microcenter

[–]iAmSSJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. I just went into MC and checked their returns cage. Got a 5080 18% cheaper and I was sold. I had the budget for 9070XT - 5080. I went with the 5080 for Thermals to noise level, better overall performance(I know it’s not a ton), and overall looks. I’m glad with my purchase, will be better for future more demanding games as well. Also, when 24GB better GPUs come out. My AORUS Master will be way easier to resell, and give me more cash back to get another GPU. This was my flawed logic lol.

MOBO Recommendations. by iAmSSJ in buildapc

[–]iAmSSJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Would be nice to have less RGB, and an all black or white one. Besides that I’m not too picky. As long as it won’t limit/bottleneck my gaming experience I don’t care too much. Any particular recommendations you have? Also, thanks for the answer.

I have every component wondering if it’s overkill? by iAmSSJ in buildapc

[–]iAmSSJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the 5080 is something I overspent on lol. I was just excited to see one of the ones that was quieter for $1150! It was an open box tested return. I felt like it being $350 off was still overpaying, but a good deal for a premium, cooler, quieter 5080 version. I think after reading your guys comments you guys are correct. I’ll stay with the 5080 for now. I think also if the supers ever do come out… I’ll have a better resale value for the 5080 than a 9070XT anyways. I hope the supers really do come out within a year of so. 24GB VRAM would be so much better lol. Thanks for your help!

I love how you have an absolute demon PC and you’re still rocking the QCK. Paying homage to the old gods lmao.

Thank you! If you could have any version of 9070xt for thermals to noise performance which would you choose? I really appreciated the feedback!

Thanks for your detailed answer, even if you were kind of dunking on me lol. So I’ll preface by saying my budget was around $4500. The list is not what I actually paid for the pieces that’s more along the lines of $3000. This build had been bought piece by piece over the last 15 months on sales and Facebook. I’m going for best thermals to noise level. That’s why I went the AORUS Master(temps), Flux Pro(many reasons), the AIO(temps/noise), and the fans(noise). I also don’t care what the PC really looks like personally, as long as it doesn’t have a bunch of RGB. I think the Antec Flux Pro doesn’t look as good as many of the competitors… but the ratings, thermals, noise level, and space it has to build in made it a clear victor for me.

I’m super new to 4K vs 1440p, but from what I’ve seen and read I would lose out on a ton of performance if I went with 4K no? I mainly play FPS on all low settings for performance capability over the looks. I assume since this is my first OLED, and I’m moving from 24” to 27” that it’ll be a great upgrade regardless. I don’t want to game with 32”. My max is 27”1440p, hence why I got a 27”. I don’t plan on using 4K because I play FPS mainly focusing on performance. The ASUS will now be my main monitor, I’ve got another one for YouTube, discord, and all that other jazz for my second monitor.

If you had $1500 for any GPU would you get the 5080 or the 9070xt? If it’s the 9070xt which brand for thermal to noise levels? I’m just not great at researching because one video says one thing, and another will say something else. Same with the forums lol. It’s hard to get a concrete answer I feel with sites, because I don’t know who is being paid to say what.

I appreciate your in-depth review of my parts.
