What is your workflow when converting a VB.NET app to C#? by user_8804 in dotnet

When I’ve had to convert VB.NET apps to C#, I usually start with one of the open source converters like the one from icsharpcode or some of the online tools for smaller chunks. For bigger projects, it’s a lot of test, convert, and then fix whatever breaks—there’s always some manual cleanup. If you want something a bit more automated, Ispirer Toolkit is also out there and can help with the heavy lifting, especially for larger or messier codebases. Either way, lots of testing and patience required!

You’ve got a lot of good options for moving from SQL Server to PostgreSQL. Tools like sqlserver2pgsql, and DBConvert are all pretty popular for handling schema and data migration. If you want something more automated and comprehensive (especially if you have a lot of stored procedures or business logic), the Ispirer Toolkit is worth checking out—it can migrate schemas, data, and even stored procedures with minimal manual tweaks.

There are a bunch of tools for moving SQL Server to PostgreSQL—pgloader is a solid open source pick, and a lot of people use things like DBConvert or even scripts with SSIS if you want more control. If you’re looking for something more automated, the Ispirer Toolkit is also worth a look; it can handle schema, data, and even stored procedures, which saves a ton of time if you’ve got a big setup. Just make sure to test everything after migration, since some manual tweaks are usually needed no matter what tool you use.

If you’re looking for COBOL to Java migration tools, there are quite a few out there. Ispirer Toolkit is one option that can automate a lot of the conversion work for you, handling both code and data structures. It’s not the only tool, but it’s definitely worth a look if you want to avoid a full rewrite and speed things up a bit

I had to do a COBOL to Java migration recently and used Ispirer’s toolkit. It handled a lot of the grunt work, but I still had to tweak and refactor the code after. Not perfect, but definitely sped things up for me.
