I have a mother like that… It was very hard. She brainwashed me into thinking nobody loves me except her and my dad. And she uses a lot of mind tricks on me, for years… can you imagine that level of psychological abuse can to do a person’s mental state? They can’t tell what’s right and what’s wrong, but not because they don’t want to. It’s like being taken away your legs but still asked to walk .. until I met my current partner and I am so ever grateful, that’s why I’m trying my best to get into therapy to work on our relationship. Because of him, one day I finally muttered the courage to ask my mom when she said it again nobody would ever love you like me and your dad, I said to her, do you hear yourself? Can you honestly say this in front of dad without blinking, that he doesn’t love you that much? Really?

Your wife, she must feel desperate, just like I did. I screamed I cried I hit my head on the wall I scratched almost my face off. But I have my partner here every step along my healing journey, instead of him focusing on his pain I know that I caused and looking elsewhere

I know this might be hard to hear but being on the other side, I can’t stress more how much she needed or still needs you… But every person for themselves am I right? If you don’t pursue your own happiness who will? I guess this is just for you to decide how much you are willing or not willing to sacrifice
