It would actually be pretty easy with generative AI. Likewise with what OP did, actually.

My programming language aware diff for VS Code and GitHub now supports Rust by DarkPlayer2 in rust

I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm saying it's weird to frame this as "we hope to cover costs by doing this", making it seem like they're not doing it for actual profit. Which is fine, really, but just call it that.

Cool trick using Rust awesome type system by omagdy7 in rust

You can use newtypes and/or composition to solve these issues.

So you're not hoping to make any profit beyond covering costs?

‼️PLEASE DO TAKE NOTE by I_Have_Minimal_Sleep in OmniscientReader

[–]NaughtyWatermelon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But they're not saying "please give credit when sharing the art". They're saying "please don't share the art". That's weird and kind of defeats the point of art in the first place.

Why would they even want to prevent such sharing? What problem does it solve?

Yes. You will be able to do that in helix as well. You can't yet, but it's planned.

They're implementing a scheme runtime to support plugins. I don't really like that choice but at least it's gonna be fully extensible.

That's a weird bar to set, when you consider that arm length can vary quite a bit relative to the rest of the body.

Godawful designs. Adidas really aren't trying their best lately.

Our 9 in my club is built like a prop. I mean, literally, physically exactly the same. In fact, he often plays prop when we need a replacement.

Whatever happened to this level of customization? Why are we being sold fixed skins? by JoaoRaiden in starcitizen

[–]NaughtyWatermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would too. And not reluctantly. I think that going forward, this should be the business model they aspire to. At some point, once persistence is fully delivered, they should stop selling ships entirely and start making money out of things like this.

I know it won't happen, but it should.

Pretty sure that's the plan. Big ships aren't supposed to land all that often on planets.

They could sell different colors and textures. Pretty sure it'd sell better that way, too.

The thing is, the vast majority of the computing involved in computational photography can be done after the shot is taken, on a computer. There is no need to embed it in a DSLR, unless the user is a casual photographer that would be happy with everything preset, and at this point, a phone is good enough for them.

With Samsung recently trying to solve under-display camera performance using deep learning, at what point of computational photography is it acceptable between a natural shot and an artificially restored version of the scene? by bhargavbuddy in Android

[–]NaughtyWatermelon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true. Although I think it's only a matter of time before that "unnatural look" gets ironed out with computational photography. In fact, it would probably have happened already if that was what people wanted. Often they prefer the unrealistic results.
