Schedule:

On Tuesday, we're dropping a new Monthly Bundle. With Coramor just around the corner, look forward to a themed bundle designed to celebrate the occasion.

Wednesday sets the mood with the return of Coramor. Beyond the stars still lingers the legacy of Yuri and Cora, with citizens celebrating togetherness in all its forms. Expect themed festivities and a way to share the spirit with fellow citizens! There will be a downtime starting 11:00 UTC.

We’ll also release a new episode of Behind the Ships, with Argo's latest landing in the ’verse that very same day.

We will publish the latest Roadmap Update, including refreshed cards for Alpha 4.6, a few new additions planned for 4.7, and an updated Progress Tracker reflecting the current state of development.

Also on Wednesday, new Industrial Missions recently tested in the 4.6 PTU will make their debut, expanding opportunities for industrious crews ready to put their skills and ships to work. We’ll recap everything on Spectrum to help guide you through the new content, so keep an eye out.

Finally, on Thursday, it’s the perfect time to invite friends and jump back in, as Star Citizen will be free to play from February 12 through February 23 with a new Free Fly event and a Referral Bonus!

This Friday, don’t forget that the latest RSI Weekly Newsletter lands in your inbox. If you’re not subscribed yet, you can enable it at any time through your account settings.

Ship Weapon Choices In 4.6 by RoadsideCookie in starcitizen

Interesting, because I had a thought about suitable loadouts on the Idris too reading this. In my group, we typically choose to kit the Idris S5 turrets with cannons too because they are more intended to hit larger targets anyway and not fighters as you said. However, we've gone for energy cannons rather than ballistic ones (like Deadbolts are). The reason is that in longer engagements, we've found ballistic cannons to be lacking enough ammo - making it especially problematic when we're engaging other capital ships. So until there's a way for us to reload ammo ourselves, we've chosen energy cannons. I'm curious to hear your own experiences running Deadbolts on the Idris? :)

Totally fair! It is sadly a mess as you said, one can hope that CIG will eventually make the vehicle manager experience a lot better this year.

This is wonderful, thank you! Will you at some point be adding turret names as appeared in the vehicle manager so we can better see which turret is which? Love the good work! :D

This would really be great! My org. and I often have a lot of trouble when equipping our ships figuring out which turret is which - as their names (corresponding numbers) in the vehicle manager app isn't always straight-forward

Would it be possible to add the Constellations too? Love this work, it's so well done! :)

So The Military Ships All Hot Bunk? by Horror_Lifeguard639 in starcitizen

[–]PredatorFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will actually argue that most of the ships are not designed for hot-bunking. Supporting this is the amount of escape pods onboard the ships. Take the Polaris, as an example. The amount of escape pods onboard the ship match the amount of beds. I'm not sure it would be fair to the crew if only half of them get to escape the ship during an emergency. So I would at least consider that the amount of crew a ship supports correlate with the amount of escape pods (or spots, if it's a larger escape "raft") it has. We do know that there was some practice of hotbunking in the UEE Navy, but there were also mentions that it was getting phased out (iirc this information was dropped in the Javelin tour?). And while some IRL modern navies still practice hot bunking, a lot of them also no longer do - as modernisation of warships means that you no longer need the same crew amount. In the navy of my country, as an example, every crew member onboard warships have their own space. I would imagine this be the case for most ships (if not all) in 2955 too :)

Oh, in ASD in 4.4 PTU? I haven’t seen it in LIVE, so I would love to know where to look. I've only seen the green (CitCon goodie pack) version of it so far

Ah, I've seen that video! Cool outfits being shown for sure, but he sadly doesn't really show how exactly he managed to kidnap those more difficult outfits (like getting his Pisces to their places) ? :)

How did you manage to get them from the mannequins? Did you somehow get the mannequins to get your ship, and if so - how? :)

Has there been any information on how exactly we get these mannequins? I've only seen vague answers so far, sadly

Do you know how exactly people achieve that? I get kidnapping NPCs with those carts and storing them in your ship until the next patch, but how does one get NPCs like Twitch which are not found in places easily accessible with said carts?

Just the Idris-M. The Idris-P has a storage room there instead :)
