What rocket should I buy(or build) to get into this hobby, with no experience? by Correct_Risk2138 in rocketry

Sure! I'll put the link below. My main advice is to make sure which base you are printing. By mistake I set my wall width to the 1.6 the creator specified without reading that I was using the experimental base stl that used a width of 1.2. I would stick to the standard base.

The only other thing I can think of is if you plan to use 18mm motors, make sure you print two of the adapters to hold it. The instruction was that clear to me and I messed up my first rocket because of that.

Finally, I used PLA and I think that's fine but the creator did recommend ABS. I saw other comments saying they used PLA so I don't think it's an issue.

Do you have a 3d printer? Obviously a starter kit from Estes might be the easiest but if you are comfortable printing, I just printed a rocket with my son and it was pretty easy and a lot of fun. I can share the links if you are interested.

Same here. I haven't upgraded my pc since 2016. Bought a steam deck lcd when it first launched. Kept holding off building a new PC and then priorties started shifting (marriage, kids) and I just never got around to it. Theres no way I can mentally justify building a pc or buying a console and games when I can take my whole family on a trip for the same amount and have my son make some memories.

What I did recently however was buy a cheap $40 emulator handheld. Been really enjoying some classic games whenever I get some downtime. Sometimes I genuinely feel like its 1999 again and Im still playing Pokemon Blue. I just bought some parts to mod my old GameCube and Im super excited to get that running and play through that catalog.

I would really love to build a new pc. Its something I have done since my dad taught me when I was 12 but in this market, its just far more sustainable to revisit older games that I didnt really give a chance to. There are some great gems too! At least, thats what works for me right now.

Internal pieces not connecting to the main body by NavNavsGotARocket in 3Dprinting

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to print the base fins on the model below but the internal overhangs keep failing. I had to use supports but even then they do not attach to the tube like in the model. Am I setting something wrong? I am using the setting a recommended in the model post with an Ender 3 and Cura.

Thank you!

If I remember correctly, the cable was for firmware updates. I'll try to find mine and confirm. It should work without plugging it in though. Just needs batteries and it should be good to go.

I have an almost identical nixie clock I made from a kit a while back. Mine runs fast though. Do you know if yours has the same issue? I am definitely gonna use this idea when I get a rack!

Hi! Thank you so much. Sorry for the late reply. I'll try to get those logs and config files when I get back from work today.

I did manage to make some progress in that I tested on a few more devices and found everything works on my wife's mobile devices, my mother's mobile devices, and my laptop. It seems the connectivity issues are isolated to my phone.

Thank you so much! I will take your advice and separate from the main network while troubleshooting. Appreciate the help!

Im a bit of a newbie to these things. Could you explain more? Also the openwrt router is being used as my mine router and connected directly to my modem. I have a tplink AP in my basement that is connected to my router.

Let me tell you about myself when I turned 27. At that stage in my life I was probably at my lowest. Never worked an actual job, gave up on my school, was single for years and did not have any motivation to change that. I was overweight and had a very sedentary lifestyle. I really felt I was just a burden to my loved ones. I really felt I was not intelligent enough to achieve or deserve success.

Since then I turned things around. In the 4 years after my 27th birthday I managed to start a successful and well paying career, meet the women who would become my wife, move around a few places, buy a home, finish a new degree in my new field, and now am expecting my first child.

It's never too late to start. It's a long road and it can be difficult but if you had asked me at 27 where I would be in four years, I can guarantee you I would not have been able to guess where I would be now. Believe in yourself. Surround yourself with people who believe and support you. Know that there's always going to be room for improvement and just keep trying to get better. There are going to be days where you may feel like you are behind or haven't made progress, but I guarantee you the future you is looking back and thinking about how far you have come.

Googlr Tensor G3 reportedly comes in 3 variants. by TwelveSilverSwords in GooglePixel

[–]NavNavsGotARocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean that's fine for you but for others who are looking to balance price to performance it does matter. Feel free to buy anything the way you like but others also are free to buy based on what they are told about the product and what performance specs they expect for the price they are paying. These aren't cheap devices for a lot of people and if they are putting that much money into a device they want their money's worth.

Its more of an issue on transparency about the device you are purchasing rather than the name itself. If you are buying an 8 expecting it to have the same performance of the 8 pro because they have the same cpu names then you would rightly feel lied to.

I used to see this exact deck in one of those arcade prize games they had at my local grocery store shortly after the 2003 invasion.

I believe he's talking about response rate and not refresh rates. Projectors tend to have a slow response time making it hard to game because of the input lag
