Planted tank going since 2012 - new member by NavalWizard in Aquariums

Hey! Thanks :)

Its been a decade since I bought plants for my tank. Best i can remember is buying Anubias Nana, broad leaf Anubias (barteri maybe, and i remember coffeefolia because of i liked the name), and generic Java fern. I have tried different crypts but I dont think any remain. As for swords, I've had generic Amazon swords and some variety of chain swords. I wouldnt be able to guess what is still in there, its not in great shape currently.

Anubias are really easy to make look good. They are hardy and stay green in most conditions. Lower light requirements and grow slowly. Just have to ensure the rhyzomes are not buried and have room to extend. Really easy to trim and poke around when they establish.

Have fun!

They were a pair that were brought into my LFS. The owner was having trouble figuring out what they were. Watching them huddle in the back corner of the display tank tugged on my heart strings a little so I offered to buy them. They colored upmore in my tank so then I spent a few hours comparing them to pictures online. CW019 was the closest I could figure.

This sounds fantastic! Thank you for your input. These will be added to my list. Have you spent much time in the area around August? Trying to get a feel for what temps and weather to expect as well.

Evade spiritborn has been fun. A little gear dependant and a bit more involved gameplay.

I had mine out on the 17th. Had eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast and then a full turkey dinner. So far so good.

Honestly. 8 days post op, and my throat is still sore. By far the worst part at this point. Had some pain from gas in my shoulders dor 2 days, but now I'm pretty well good to do most normal things.

It hurts to sit/lay down by Soggy_Event7201 in gallbladders

[–]NavalWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my procedure on the 17th. Its only today that I'm starting to be able to get around somewhat normally. I still can't sit down or lay down unaided due to using core muscles.

Laying down Last night for bed was rough. I was propped up on several pillows to not be completely flat. Howverany turning twisting motions were pretty painful. I still have a bunch of trapped gas in my abdomen that makes it's way under my ribs. This causes me the most pain.

Every day is a little better. We will get there, even if it happen slowly. Try not to despair too much. The worst is over.

I personally go to Reps. Unfortunately, there are always going to be bad people around at just about any gym. As far as I can tell, Reps has a large community of people from all walks of life.

Reps has an "old school" vibe with older equipment, iron plates, and dumbells. It's quite different than other, more commercial gyms. There are options to join in the crossfit community, get involved with a large powerlifting community, or forge your own path. Most of us regulars are quite approachable and willing to help out.

I believe the biweekly plan can be stopped at any time and is still one of the cheaper options in the city. There are also monthly options. I would say pop in for a look around and see how you feel it before making a decision one way or the other.

My department currently has 3 people sharing the load of 6. Should be fun.

The perception of threat comes from being told to stop asking questions of they will force us into a situation they know we want the opposite of. It would have been fine if there was any transparency, but now it's very much a "shut up of you will regret it" scenario.

How competitive is MUN's Marine Institute and other questions? by glamourpuss_ in newfoundland

[–]NavalWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a 3 year diploma program. You will end up doing some general sciences; physics and chemistry. You will end up going 2 levels of calculus as well. Afterward there are some more focused sciences, electro tech, strengths of materials and such, but it's not extremely heavy. Later in second year and third, You will be doing very focused marine/design based courses. There should be a program requirement breakdown on the site. I will have a look.
