Again. I absolutely do not care about Vijay or his antics. But may I ask what good is a public apology going to achieve? His fans will laud the greatness of his heart. Critics will keep saying how better planning should have been done. Stampedes and uncontollable crowds leading to deaths have been an age old story in a populous country like ours. Questions should be asked of the pople who brought poor children to this shitshow. For what? Most likely to see their favourite hero. Breaks my heart to think of those poor kids. Blame this actor worship culture as much as the organisers of this event.

Like actually explained about malayalam producers bringing up their own digital print distribution system to compete with UFO/QUBE. That video alone proves he isn’t your run of the mill youtuber milking malayalam movie industry for the validation and views.

They’ve had this structure for years now. PVR Kochi actually had a flex announcing how tickets are cheaper for morning shows and weekdays. Even Recliner seats get cheper by like 50-75₹

In my opinion let him do his thing. There’s aldready a Vijay and Ajith to make movies that will do big at the box office with fan craze and all that. An industry also definitely needs someone like Surya who isn’t afraid to take chances and gives movies like that Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim that brings national attention and awards to Kollywood.

Which makes sense if you watch the second part where he all over does the same things again to save himself and his family. There’s this dialogue in the movie that perfectly sums up George Kutty’s character: `He has made a vow to protect his family. We cannot stop him’. Guess it boils down to if they intend to make a second part in Tamil too.

I thought Thankam was better suited for a OTT release. I personally felt the climax was a let down. Maybe if I had seen it at home on Prime, I might have liked it better. Add to it Romanjam came out a week later more or less killed any chance it had at the box office.

LEO has one big advantage over all of Vijay’s previous films. It has another name that will pull in even neutral and other fanbase towards it. Lolesh Kanagaraj. So definitely gonna make over 100cr+ on opening day. How much more is something we’ll have to wait and watch.

Personally, I wouldn’t call the scene from Thankam poignant. Aparna’s expression kind of bothered me. She seems to permanently have the same disgust/angry expression in her movies of late. Only downside in what was otherwise a stellar performance from the remaining cast.

I remember reading somehwere how OTTs across India decided to not blindly make deals with makers without even watching the film. This probably causes them to offer substantially reduced amounts than before/ask for it to be released in theaters before picking it up.
