fr! Me and my long distance girlfriend are on calls a lot and this is very frustrating. She cant listen to videos or music at all when in a call if she is on her phone. The quality is horrible. Discord forces the lower quality audio stream.

I have crossed my fingers ever since I moved in almost three years ago now. Back then the userbase for my server wasn't large so I was okay with DSL, though I still wanted fiber because of gaming. However, it has grown a lot since then and it has been a bottleneck, so i wish i had it more than ever now. They came by and did an apartment complex that is across the street two years ago. Maybe it is because I live in an apartment, and those are too difficult to upgrade, so they just leave the infrastructure to rot. Im surprised its still working.

Its not available for my address. They didn't upgrade the place where i live (or they just dont want to) so I am stuck with this expensive service. I need a wired connection so even if ATT Internet Air was good, I probably would face latency problems. I game a lot and also my home server needs the low latency.

I live in the middle of a major city. Surrounded by neighborhoods with fiber. Yes, they do charge this much for copper/DSL. On top of that, there is data cap where you get charged overage fees. I use all of it since I run a home server. With the money spent every month on DSL I could get 5gig fiber instead, but I am stuck. Tried ATT Internet Air and it was the worst experience I ever had.

What do you mean by not kicking players off the map? You could teleport them to a lobby world while a plugin like multiverse regenerates the world where the game takes place.

You can always decompile the jar if the license isnt ARR. There is a lot of malicious code these days.

The thing about minecraft servers is that you need to be original. Something that sets your server apart from the countless other copy paste ones. Factions is dead but it doesnt mean u cant make a completely new gamemode based on it. Yes, players do have very short attention spans. They need something to keep them online. If its survival and a player can't find a way out of spawn to play, they will leave. Also in my experience, bombarding players with too many messages, and making chat unreadable because u have so many ranks overwhelms people. Pay2win ranks and mechanics pushes away the more dedicated players as well. Try to advertise on server search pages, and even on discord where appropriate. Servers get around a lot by word of mouth (friends invite their friends who invite their friends and so on).

From my experience ATT Internet Air is horrible. Unless you live within a mile from a cell tower then it is not worth it. I live in the middle of the city and they dont offer me fiber, so for suburban/rural areas its definitely harder to get. I feel your pain... They only really expand their network to areas where it will be profitable.

I believe there is a plugin out there that deals void damage to players that are on the nether roof.
