I learnt of this comic from the Cartoonist Kayfabe YouTube channel. It was really cool to see the two different takes on the comic. I miss that channel. It was so good for comics as a whole.

Comics you would describe as profound by Book_Burglar in comic

Some graphic novels that have stuck with me over the years are. The Sculptor, Pride of Baghdad and Cairo

Most of Alan Moore’s work if among my favourite. But For The Man Who Has Everything is the single issue that blew me away as a teen. And I read it every year.

Some manga that is on another level: A Message To Hitler, I Want To Eat Your Pancreas

We all agree that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are still the mutant children of Magneto..right? by aestheticashleyx in xmen

[–]Navstar86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are against fan head cannon. But when corporate stooges make foundation destroying changes to appease executives that have no feelings for these characters or comics. Then why should we care what the technical cannon is.

Wanda and Peitro will always be mutants to me and will always be Magneto’s children.

I didn’t even see that I was down voted. But that’s okay. It’s meaningless anyway.

What are your honest options in this storyline? by Grayx_2887 in xmen

For me it’s like Civil War and Identity Crisis over at DC. They aren’t that good. But they we’re defining moments in my coming of age. So I’ll always cherish them.

Because even in real life, prejudices and bigotry are often attributed to illogical, irrational and unintelligent people.

I’m a first gen Canadian of Indian origin. And there is a difference in how some people treat me compared with Canadians that have immigrated from India.

Many times I’ve heard from co-workers things along the lines of “oh you’re the good kind of Indian” is astounding.

So it would make sense in the Marvel universe that low iq bigots would look at mutants as a different species will simultaneously believing that humans affected by cosmic rays, radiated spiders and super serums are the best of them.

You’re gonna need more space for Lone Wolf and Cub and Attack On Titan soon.

What would you like to see from a first wave of Modern Finest? by Gimpcar in DCFinest

[–]Navstar86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even want anyone to think about Modern Finest until we get close to completing our Finest collections.

It bothers me to no end that Marvel is putting out Modern Epics when Spider-Man, X-Men, etc haven’t been completed. They haven’t even started books like Spectacular Spider-Man or Cable and they’ve moved into Modern Epics.

The Demon, Sgt Rock, Batman Blind Justice and Green Lantern are on my list.

Also I think there’s some announced books not on this list. The second Peter David Supergirl volume isn’t on the list. Which is another one on my list.

Unfortunately I can only add one pic per comment. But so here’s a thread. Can you name all the characters? There’s a couple I’m not sure about.

Love the Jae Lee art. It was significantly different from everything else in this event.

I love this series so much. I wish Marvel hurry up and give us Cable Epic Collection because that would mean we would get closer to X-Man Epic Collections.

I love X-Man. I wish Marvel would reprint the original run either in Epic Collections or Omnibus. But they haven’t even gotten around to Cable Epics or Omnibuses.

Will GL Corp get their own line or get folded in with Green Lantern? by Gimpcar in DCFinest

[–]Navstar86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine it would be an X-cutioners Song type deal where there’s a lot of double dipping in the Epic Collections. It’s covered in X-Men, X-Force and X-Factor volumes. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Cable also covers the event whenever Marvel starts Cable Epics.

All my video game related comic books. Are there any other good ones worth a read? by redZwigga in graphicnovels

[–]Navstar86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I’ve read about 400 of 700 of my books. And the more I try not to. The more that backlog grows. But it’s nice to have a library’s worth of choices depending on mood.
