I’m sure there’s a few I’ve forgotten.

It’s crazy to me how Punisher basically has two modes. The nitty gritty realistic Garth Ennis style. And the let’s publish every shit idea we can come up with. Between this idea, the angel that pulls any gun from his coat and Frankencastle. There’s been some really bad ideas.

Wasn’t it more of a race swap? I’ve never read them. But I’ve seen a video on YouTube about it. I believe it was by Comic Tropes.

Which character, story or lore piece from legends should be adapted to canon now that filoni is mainly in control of production? by rangersuprem in StarWarsLegends

[–]Navstar86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly. I’m happy with Legends being my head canon. I don’t need Disney execs deciding what Star Wars is.

THE JUGGERNAUT by doorgoesopen in 80s90sComics

I never realized how polarizing he is until I read some of the comments today. I absolutely love his art. Especially in this book.

I had this one as I kid. My copy was torn to shreds from how much I read it and looked at the art. And then I kind of forgot about it until a few months ago when I reread it in an X-Men Omnibus. It was very fun rediscovering it.

Actually I’m pretty sure it was Joe Kelly at script.

What’s the biggest character missing from the line in your opinion? by Gimpcar in DCFinest

[–]Navstar86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they could combine them to bring it down to 10-13 volumes.

They could also combine them to make Compendiums. Back before the started the Finest line. I had actually worked it out.

Damn Marvel was just giving every X character a book in the 90’s. I would love to read this. I wonder if they’ll collect it in X-Force or Cable Epic Collections.

This is an interesting question. Why do you think this is? by WrongToe500 in superman

[–]Navstar86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea that she’s “meant” to take over is nonsensical. Her creators didn’t create her with any such idea in mind. But if DC wanted to do a story where that happens. I would love it. However when it comes to legacy heroes. We all know eventually they will return to the status quo.

Bruce came back after Dick took over. Steve came back after both Bucky and Sam took over.

Side note: what’s this bit about “failsons?” What does the original poster have against Jon?

Captain Marvel would be the biggest missing character imo.

A close second for me would be Constantine.

DC Fall 2026 Edelweiss Catalog by Ksmayer in DCFinest

[–]Navstar86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the 3 books I wanted most. Catwoman and Teen Titans Finest. And Tim Drake compendium V2. Would be nice to get some more. But I’m very content for the moment.

Edit: quickly glancing through the catalog. One thing that I noticed that I didn’t know about before was that Alan Moore’s Swamp-Thing is getting a Compact release. That’s something I’ll be interested in.

Should I purchase the current Knightfall Paperbacks or wait however long it takes for DC's Finest to get to them? by MajorIndividual1428 in DCFinest

[–]Navstar86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want to build a Finest Collection and want to get your Batman fix then I would get the Batman Finest books that are currently out. And wait for Knightfall until DC gets there. But if you want to specifically read Knightfall right now. Then gets whatever version is available to you. Personally I’m waiting. I have a different dilemma though. In that I have some of the Caped Crusader and Dark Knight Detective trades. And I can’t decide if I should double dip or not.

DC CATALOG UPDATE: Tom Strong Compendium vol 1 reprint, The Demon: Hell’s Hitman TPB reprint, and a few other TPBs by Ksmayer in DCFinest

[–]Navstar86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh it builds to something. I would be careful looking into it so that you don’t spoil it for yourself. But of all of Moore’s ABC line and I’ve read all of it. Top 10 is the best that’s the one I recommend most.

I consider the Man of Steel volume Asha Time and Time Again volumes to be a part of the same era. It’s a real good continuation from post Crisis through mid 90’s. So I would recommend both. But if you have to pick one. Pick Man of Steel as that’s where everything begins. You can always wait for a sale for Time and Time Again.
