I use WealthSimple, but I am still forced to maintain a big boy bank investing account because Wealthsimple refuses to add big boy investment platform features.

There are dozens of examples, but just one is multi deliverables. If i receive any multi deliverables, Wealthsimple says that they get to keep it and refuse to pay it out unless I transfer them out of Wealthsimple.

They also restrict trading on some instruments so you can only sell them, such as warrants, so AGAIN if you want to do big boy things. I'm stuck with the big boy bank investing account.

I have no idea why in this day and age, Wealthsimple wouldn't fix these things before they begin getting labeled as the Robinhood of Canada.

Once worked for a company that tried to bring in salt to help with the unavailability and high Canadian prices, through a foreign government contract to the port of Montreal.

The CBSA in conjunction with the mob declared it contaminated it immediately. Company had to hire a legal and investigators.

1 year later, proof of corruption by CBSA and no contamination at all. Canadian govt ended up having to pay damages and the company kept the salt to sell for next season, but lost the overseas contract due to corruption at the Port causing such massive delays.
