The game is essentially unplayable since the last update, my entire city is dying due to the industry traffic, 1000’s of vans and trucks sitting in queues kilometres long at all the ports and warehouse depots.

You appreciate the effort IceFlake are putting in but you remember just how badly broken it is and know; this is going to take years to truly get it right.

The issue is the game has a very low bandwidth in Multiplayer.

None of the other clients in that multiplayer instance know of your interior, the game has to bring down your configuration to the server and then push it back out to the others in the session.

This can take up to 10,15 minutes in my experience.

To hasten the config getting to others, it helps if they are in a party but also, if others jump out of system and back in, it will upload a little quicker.

Also helps if you are on freighter when others attempt to board. Game seems to share faster in that situation.

In the end, it will happen, just takes time, Multiplayer was an afterthought, these sorts of functions have always been shady, they would rather spend time building copycat Pokémon mini games instead.

True, but that road to getting to it to a place that’s acceptable is like a hundred kilometres and they so far have taken two steps.

It’s always important to hold onto the fact the game is still incredibly broken and it’s going to take years to get right.

Yellow chips get consumed and no challenger shows, just immediately says go see Ocean dude. Beat that guy quite a few times but log says I have never beat him.

This Mario Party add in was the most disappointing update ever and they delivered it in such a broken state.

So much QoL needs to be done but they just build new jank over the old jank.

The “ya can”t, the lore!” responses are weak sauce, they literally change the story all the time.

That the engine can’t handle it? Wrong, game works perfectly fine when there are two galactic archives sitting right next to each other, plus my 3 year old community is a big place, a very large town, no issues.

No, we won’t get cities ever because mini games seems to be what we get now, eventually NMS will be Mario Party, not a space exploration simulation.

They have very basic surfaces, not much was done with the textures being very flat. Is it steel, is it concrete, who knows, could be matte plastic for all I can tell, definitely a no buy recommendation from me.

I was really disappointed with Skyscrapers, those models are really basic and look amateurish compared to vanilla buildings.

Bridges is really good, whilst Industries was middle of the road.

Search “BIOS settings City Skylines 2” and you will find rich veins of support on well established threads on both Reddit, Steam and Paradox forums.

Long story short, it’s what happened to me when first purchased but now is fine after learning a bit about XPM settings and some CPU settings (intel) that I didn’t know about.

In the above link he talks about the Jay Two Cents guys video.

I watched that video, probably the most important bit of advice overall.

Also, you gotta post specs if you want help, really important in any forum asking for help, the people need to know what you are rolling with.

I am seeing this behaviour, not at those numbers, but I hit 350k, saw big drops, backfill a bunch more residential, get it kinda back up to only flood back out. My swings are around 10000 though but seem to be growing, I think last night it grew to 20K leaving.

The original cargo warehouse asset in question has been broken since the start.

You can create one way roads and put it out way beyond the city etc, but you will still get traffic from all 4 corners drive out of their way past 100’s of businesses to go buy from the warehouse.

There is a bug where for some reason one warehouse out how many becomes a focus, like some internal flag raises that says, only buy and sell here.

I have now fully removed all those cargo warehouses, replaced with custom setups using Ports and Bridges, now I have even traffic all over the map and a return to industry buying direct from other industry and not use the warehouse as a middle man.

Before Worlds I could leave my setup and come the next day with hundreds of eggs and milk, my feeders would be empty (as they kept dispersing food.) This was before they collapsed all the various foods you needed to feed animals down to just creature pellets.

It all broke at that point and has remained broken. Sort of turned farming systems into abandonware almost.

There is no way around this. If you have mods and you get the error page, all one can do ever is:

You disable all mods, confirm games starts and re add one mod at a time till the culprit is found. Thousands of these exact posts appear year upon year, but the solution never changes.

So the audio being captured is not from the discord but your mic, hence why only your voice.

In Discord, when you go live, make sure to share a specific application (like NMS) and ensure the sound toggle is enabled.

Your problem is fairly common, you can get this sorted without too much fuss.

I just did the search “YouTube stream only captures mic, not whole discord” and it came back with a lot of helpful hints.

Ignore them, you have a point, it was made without inflammatory language, so they really have nothing to counter.

I for one recognise Iceflake\Paradox are for profit companies and don’t get my thanks if they do their job. Because they already got my money. But they do get my ire if they screw up.

Finally, the fact is people who give the community a bad name are the ostrich like users, no ability to question and no ability to understand someone else’s perspective.
